This is just me nitpicking, but the front page could do with a more inspiring tagline than “The First FFXIV DX11 Bot”. It’s been years since DX11 has become a default option for playing the game, it’s not gonna impress anyone anymore. Maybe change it to “The Bot That Won’t Require You To Buy Addons Worth Literally Hundreds Of Dollars Just To Be Somewhat Functional”. Or something.
I was a huge Miqobot supporter a few years back, and recommended it to quite a few people, but I must admit I just don’t have much use for it these days. I like the idea of a casual bot, the one where you just press the button and it works. However, Miqo didn’t evolve much during all this time. Scenarios and combat still feel undercooked. Crafting calculator was Miqo’s big draw, but now the other bot’s got one too… in form of a paid addon, obviously.
And yes, I too abhor the other bot’s business model of selling each feature separately. However, as unfair as it may seem, it’s proven to be very effective. Because of API and the addon store, as long as the core devs keep the bot online, someone will always step up to fill whatever niche needs filling. I respect that Miqo isn’t going that route, but there needs to be some kind of progress in terms of features if it’s to remain a viable alternative.
The fact that Miqo isn’t nearly as complicated as that other bot is both a boon and a flaw. On one hand, Miqo will never ever crash your game. On the other, its functionality is still quite limited. Honestly, crafting calculator is the only redeeming point for me. It’s awesome, I love it. But it was super dissapointing that they didn’t bother to update the radar for Heaven-on-High, which is the hot new thing right now. Makes you wonder if they even plan to continue development if the hackers persist.
It’s been a year and a half, when are we going to get “Hunts only” option in Radar? The other bot, which I’ll not name, got this feature a while ago.

I doubt it’s going to be something quite as advanced as a DPS solver, as you can’t just stop for a minute or two in battle, waiting for the calculations to complete. As for me, I’d be content even without proper combat support, as long as the list of available commands for scenario keeps steadily expanding.
I’ve made my own scenario for melding materia, it’s a bit more complicated, but it gets the job done. As for spiritbonding and leves, I didn’t yet look into it, but I suppose it should be pretty easy to set up.
The other thing I’ve been thinking of is Big Fishing. Is it possible to use Miqo for this? I’m not a fan of fishing, and the horror stories I hear about people spending days for the right combination of time, weather and luck don’t make it any better.

It had to happen sooner or later. In fact, I’m surprised it took them this long. Just last weekend me and my team decided to try and get on to POTD’s top 100, starting from floor 1 and grabbing as many chests and kills as we could. Took much longer than usual, but we did get a pretty high rating, and 2 of us also got a pegasus. So, all in all, we had a good run. 10 bucks well spent.
I honestly don’t think it’s worth it. Miqobot already makes the trip to floor 200 a much more pleasant experience by showing hoards, mimics and the general direction in which exit’s located. As for the traps, you just have to be careful – hug the walls, fight between rooms and all that jazz. I just don’t see how displaying theoretical locations of traps would help. It’s unlikely Miqo will ever reach 100% accuracy in that regard, and if there’s even 1% chance of a trap, on floors 170+ it’s too much of a risk.
