Regarding Combat Assist. All of the jobs have their rotations optimized for level 70 content. You can find the state of these updates in the Discussion section of the forum. The 71-80 abilities and traits have not been implemented for most of the yet, but the dev team is working on them. Some jobs, like SMN and MCH, are 80 ready. Some, like DNC, can function viably with the help of a macro. Most will need your hands on input to manually use the 71-80 skills yourself in Miqo’s rotation, which means you have to keep an eye on her rotation while handling mechanics if you’re doing Extreme trials, etc.
For BLM, you can get Miqo to use Xenonover Foul by making a macro and placing it on the hotbar. An example would be:Macro Name: Foul
/micon “Foul”
/merror off
/ac “Xenoglossy” <t>But you wouldn’t want to use this in dungeons because you’d lose out in massive AoE damage. You can also macro Despair to Blizzard III to round out the rotation, but due to the change in MP levels when Convert is used you will miss out on a Despair in the opener and once every 3 minutes unless you use it manually when you need to.
IMO, after playing with all of the jobs at 80 with Miqo, MCH is totally hands free, you just have to move. That is probably the best option if you’re doing prog, etc, since you can move without consequence and keep your eyes on what’s going on around you.
BRD I would place at a close second, since essentially you only *have* to press Apex Arrow when the gauge is full, but in order to play it to its potential you still have to keep an eye on raid buffs to snapshot your dots, and do the same during your own burst windows (Raging Strikes, etc) so it’s not as optimally hands free as MCH.
DNC, with the use of a macro, is also good to go at 80. On a striking dummy, I pull 11k dps over 3 mins doing the rotation manually without Miqo’s help. With the use of a macro to attach Saber Dance and Flourish into Cascade, Miqo (without my assistance) will do around 10.8k dps over 3 minutes. So, really, a 200 dps loss over 3 minutes… that’s pretty acceptable, especially considering you’ll still be doing 2-3k more dps than the other DNC in your PUG raid 😛 The reason Macros work for DPS rotations with Miqo as opposed to regular players is because miqo presses the GCD skills precisely when the GCD stops rolling, with no hiccup, and she only needs to press the GCD skill once. The only time you see mashing behavior is to double-weave and make sure the OGCD skills go off. Whereas most regular players tend to mash GCD’s, and so the Macro constantly requeue’s and the skills don’t go off as smothly as they do with Miqo. So definitely give the Cascade macro a try if you’re interested in DNC.
SMN you really only have to press 3 buttons during one window every 2 minutes (the firebird trance) and that’s a small price to pay for the damage you put out with Miqo. I love sitting at 1st place in the 24-man Copied Factory with 16k while 2nd place is a SAM or MCH doing 13-14k – not to mention keeping that damage up while also raising healers and other party members. If you’re going into content you already know, then SMN is a pretty fun job to use with Miqo.
Tanking is just fine with Miqo. Obviously if you have some experience tanking it helps, but tanking isn’t really hard at all once you get over the initial intimidation (if that’s even a factor for you.) As a matter of fact Miqo plays the tanking jobs better than most duty finder tanks do, myself included before I started using her. If you’re paying attention to your enmity and making sure you don’t have any stragglers running off attacking other party members (which is pretty difficult considering the enmity/tank stance changes with Shadowbringers) then you won’t have any issues. If one does run off, just target it and Miqo will Provoke it in an instant.
Things to bear in mind: only combat up to Lv.70 is currently supported, so if you’re running 71+ dungeons you will have to pay attention to the rotation and jump in when needed. But 70 and below is flawless and you won’t run into any issues.
Warrior requires some babysitting above 70 at the moment due to the traits it earns and how Fell Cleave/Infuriate function. Honestly I just prefer to play WAR manually until Miqo is updated to recognize the new traits/skills.
Paladin needs your input in AoE pulls in order to use Requiescat/Holy Circle spam, but you can macro Atonement into Fast Blade to make its single target rotation flow just fine. If you’re at Lv.80 then once a minute just make sure you manually press Confiteor after 4 Holy Spirits. Easy peasy.
Dark Knight plays as though it’s complete, the only thing you really have to do is pop Living Shadow every 2 minutes, and use The Blackest Night for tank busters or mob pulls. Keep TBN on CD during mob pulls since the incoming damage will ALWAYS pop it, and that’s not only great mitigation but a free nuke to blast the enemies with.
Gunbreaker is also more or less complete, you just have to pop off Bloodfest every 90 seconds, but you have to make sure to expend any charges Miqo is holding onto before you put it on CD, and be sure not to use it at a point in the 1-2-3 rotation when she would otherwise gain another charge. You don’t want to overcap or lose out on a powder charge since that’s a minimum of 500 potency lost. Also keep in mind that because Miqo doesn’t have any kind of damage prediction at the moment, AoE mitigation will have to be used by yourself. Miqo also won’t use skills like Intervention, TBN on other party members, etc. She will rotate through her personal damage mitigating skills, which is really all you need to worry about in most dungeon runs so it works just fine. Happy tanking! ^^
WHM is pretty much complete with the exception of the Lv.80 skill, Temperance. Performs beautifully in end game dungeons and 24-man raids, though I haven’t tried it out in EX trials like Hades, for example, where you need you probably want to save certain skills for certain situations, and not have them blown too soon, etc. But Miqo in WHM is really a thing of beauty. I can’t wait until the 72+ SCH skills are finally implemented, I feel like Miqo would be an unstoppable god at that point.
My experience with Miqo and FC vs BS is also strange. As far as I can tell the buff windows and the skills are basically the same and function the same, no? I mean, minus the Direct Hit/Crit aspect of IR, of course. And yet, Miqo never hits 5 FC’s for me. The buff always falls off just before she can hit that 5th FC. But she always hits 5 BS’s for me. She gets tot he 5th one right as the buff would fall off, but the game always allows her to get that 5th BS in with no gauge cost. I can only assume it has something to do with the animations as this point. It’ll be interesting to see what changes with the next combat update we receive, and to see how far along the roadmap skill queueing ends up.
So regarding Emergency Tactics and SCH, I ran the Nier raid to test out the 70 capabilities (Miqo pretty much solo healed the entire raid as I had one of *those* parties and a co-healeron the floor every 2 minutes) and she never used Emergency Tactics, even when teh situation waranted some emergency tactics :P. There was a point where Indomitability was on CD, Whispering Dawn was on CD, and she used Succor a couple of times to top off newly rezz’d and low hp people but I eventually had to press Emergency Tactics myself before another cast. Just sharing here to see if anyone else has had that issue or if the raid environment and what was going on somehow affected her decisions. Having said that, I cannot wait until Miqo is able to use Recitation/Fae Blessing/Seraph & Consolation, because she’d be one unstoppable force to be reckoned with ^^ <3 lov you hard work you’ve been doing for us, it really shows!
Just wanted to report that I’m leveling an alt, and while crafting at low-levels (when I only have Basic Synthesis, Basic Touch, and Master’s Mend) when crafting a 40 durability recipe (copper ingot on GSM when this happened) Miqo consistently starts the craft with Master’s Mend, wasting 88 CP off the bat since the durability is already 40/40 at the beginning, and then proceeds to do 3 Basic Touches and finishes with Synth on the last step. Just letting you know since I know the patch broke the crafting solver and it will be a work in progress to get it back into top shape ^^
Is anyone else having issues with Blind Positionals since the Alpha update? WHenever I test MNK/NIN/SAM/DRG out on the striking dummy at my fC house, Miqo will run about 8 fulms in any whacky direction (usually *away* from the dummy and out of range) to hit the positional. And then because she’s out of range, I have to move her in again, only to have to fight to keep her close as she tries to run to her next positional (and then past… and then away again…)
I recall having run into this issue once on a very long, long while before, but now it’s all the time.
I wonder if there’s a bit more to the bug if you’re playing a class with no cast bars then. Because I did manually use skills (I still had to finish the dungeon, after all) but it didn’t resolve the issue. As a BRD nothing has a cast bar, so maybe it won’t resolve itself in this manner until you leave an instance? Not sure, hasn’t happened again but will keep an eye out. Thanks for your hard work, and I hope you’re allowing yourselves time to enjoy the new raid! ^^
So I had an issue running Expert Roulette with BRD and Combat Assist activated. In Amaurote there are a few parts where you teleport to a new area. After using the teleportation pad into the final area, after the second boss (with all the adds and the explosion at the end) Combat Assist stopped working. There were no errors in the message box, and it was still active, she simply wouldn’t do anything. I paused CA for about 10 secs then activated it again, but she still wouldn’t do anything. I closed Miqo out totally, and then launched her again, started up Combat Assist, and she still wouldn’t take the helm. I’m not sure if it’s the last area of Amaurote itself that she doesn’t like, if something there triggered it, or the way the second boss ends, but once I left Amaurote I was able to go to a striking dummy and she worked fine again. Just did the Akadaemia dungeon and she worked flawlessly the whole time. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had that issue yet.
Implementation of the Trust System will require a few weeks.
Please do not expect it to be available before the next raid tier.At the moment the only way to level combat jobs with Miqobot is farming Sohm Al with Squadrons.
According to our calculations, it will take approximately 100 hours to level one job from 71 to 80 in Squadron Dungeons. If you need to progress faster, please consider alternative solutions.I think the takeaway from this for me is that the eta on a brand new system that was just implemented into the game itself was measured in weeks, and not months. I mean, considering the dev team are players themselves and I’m sure would also like to enjoy the game, I was not expecting the first trust dungeon to be added so quickly. Holy smokes. You all are truly dedicated not just your product but the community that has come together around it as well. Thank you all so much for the fabulous work you do ^^
