Its fundamentally different. Its a pvp feature.
Minigames are the fastest way possible in the game. You can farm only 3-4 hours per day and it will still be better than Chocobo Racing. Just dont do it non stop. Take regular breaks, use afk timers, use scenarios. It takes about 24 hours to farm 1 mil MGP but you can spread them over the week to be safe.

Seems like you didnt read the instructions from the scenario creator. The macro he uses is
2,4.Change the keybinds for cordials. Also change the “macro” under the gatherPresets to one that suits you.
Your Miqo selects an empty slot because that scenario uses gather by name. If youre playing in any language other than English you have to modify the names as well. Keep in mind that scenario is just a preset so its a very good idea to use it as a template to create your own version which will be unique and match your own needs.
