I was actually about to post the same issue, when I’m not using keyboard mode my character will often not start combat, if I start it myself my character won’t use many of my skills, often doing nothing but the most basic attack.
I’ve got a disability that makes me only really able to play with a controller so I’m hopeful this is a problem that can be fixed!
Edit: Maybe it isn’t what mode I’m in, only that the hotbars are hidden? Once I get a free moment I’ll hide my hotbars in keyboard mode and see if that breaks it.

August 21, 2019 at 6:54 pm in reply to: Asking the community: Thoughts on Open World Combat and User Protection #16861I know I’m in a vast minority at this point but lately I’ve used Miqo almost exclusively for its combat capabilities. I’ve got a disability that makes some classes nearly impossible to play or very painful at best and being able to still level, gear, and do the class quests for them is a godsend and has extended my playtime in FFXIV by 10x.
Using miqo as an accessibility tool is probably outside the original intention of it but because I use it for this, personally, my vote for highest priority would be toward finishing combat assist up to 80 for every class.
As for automated MSQ… I could see using it once on an alt but to me FFXIV is so much about the story that I’d never want to use it for any content I’ve never experienced. Miqo is a wonderful tool for eliminating the grind of crafting/gathering but I’d hate to see it start attracting droves of gil sellers and raising the profile of miqo to the point that the community is on the active lookout for users. However the miqo team is incredibly intelligent and if their MSQ automation looks sufficiently like a real player that they feel confident that even if someone were on the lookout they couldn’t prove you’re a bot, maybe its worth it to finish just to not waste the effort they already put in. I’m conflicted.
Fate grinding would be wonderful, as would Eureka support. But right now even with the Shadowbringers changes Fates aren’t super worth it after a point and Eureka is likely to get changes to make it more solo friendly so perhaps its not worth working on until something is announced. I suspect the new relics might get tied to Fates again this expansion though, so that is something to consider.
My priority list personally would look something like
1. Combat Assist complete to 80, perhaps including scenario integration
2. Trust dungeons
3. Global chat pause
4. Vendor navigation supportSo I guess bottom line
MSQ – Lean No
Fates – Low Priority / 1 instance
Eureka – Low priority / 1 instance
PVP – Lean No
Refunds – Nah, people who are careless enough to get banned don’t need refunds. You can take some precautions to lower your risk of being recognized by following others paths with some pretty easy steps.
There is a way to set the bot to go to a random waypoint to wait for your timers, you can change where those waypoints are or add extras so you look more random and never share a waiting spot with other bots. This won’t help too much on aethersand grids, because there are only so many nodes you can reach anyway.
Anytime the scenario has a wait built into it you should change the length or time on it so you don’t start moving at the same time as everyone else using that scenario, which will help you look different.
The best advice though is to probably set up extended scenarios where you swap to different activities every hour or so, reducing the appearance of mindless grinding. You can also set up a few minutes of afk time in your scenarios to simulate taking bathroom or stretch breaks, if you’re worried about that kind of thing.
I don’t know if this has already been brought up but Miqobot Assist just completely stops working on the last stage of Amaurot. This is with Bard btw.
This might be related to an issue we’ve seen a few times before, the workaround currently is to manually trigger something with a cast bar and cancel it, that should fix miqo for the rest of the instance. Even using /return and then moving so it doesn’t actually cast should do it! If its the issue I think it is this is related to an action being interrupted by a cutscene/teleport and miqo thinking its still casting the last action and being unwilling to interrupt it.
As far as cheap melding goes, if you’re wearing the current crafted gear you likely have enough GP to survive with for now and can mainly ignore it. As people do the math a rotation that requires 750 will likely emerge, or 800 but that would likely require overmelding and food to be workable. If you aim to get your perception/gathering roughly equal with maybe a little more toward perception and you’ll probably be fine. I’ve got relatively cheap melds going so I’m around 1894 gathering/1934 perception and got myself to 750 gp and it seems to work just fine for everything I’ve tried to gather so far.
The Balance theorycrafting discord has tentatively tagged THIS as the ‘optimal’ meld if you’re going full overmelding. For right now though you can totally survive off of much cheaper melds. Watch what you can afford and I imagine the level 8 materia are going to get cheaper by the day (on my server they’ve been dropping in price 100k a day) until new content comes out.
You’ve hit it right on the head Flacito.
When combat assist is activated miqo will do the proper rotation for your class to the best of its ability. You have to handle movement, target swapping, mechanics that require activating things, and duty actions (like the immunity on Lakshmi) yourself.
Before the expansion some classes were closer to ideal at max level than others (Redmage and Bard specifically were both pretty close to ideal rotations) but after the expansion we’re unsure when combat assist will come back online. Miqo will need to relearn all the rotations and new abilities for each class, this could take weeks or months, no one knows. Combat assist was also still in “beta” which means that sometimes (rarely) things go wrong unexpectedly. I think Miqo had all the classes finished into the low to mid 60’s, level wise, before the xpac dropped.
May 16, 2019 at 8:03 am in reply to: Miqo Goals Until Shadowbringers (Casual Gameplay Discussion) #12702Personally I’m looking forward to Heaven on High support mostly because no one raises an eyebrow if you spend 4 hours in HOH a day but it would be super noticeable to anyone on your friends list/in any linkshell that you’ve been in Sohm Al much longer than one or two dungeon runs could account for.
Anecdotally I’ve actually had multiple people ask me why I’m in Sohm Al so much these days and I’ve only limited myself to four runs a day.
That is a question that is impossible for us to answer, really.
I worry that the time/effort/money it takes to get a second account up to the point where it can provide materials and gil to your main would vastly outweigh the potential gain you could make. Consider that you would need to either buy an MSQ skip or level at least one combat class to max and do the entire MSQ on the alt account, unlock flying for each zone, then level your gatherer and possibly your crafter classes.
This could be quite the time investment and if you only play FFXIV for a few months each year like many players you might just be better off using Miqo on your main casually.
On the other hand if you intend to keep playing for all of Shadowbringers now would be the time to start working on your alt account!
If someday Miqo can do the MSQ from start to finish solo my opinion might flip that its worth having an alt but for me, personally, I don’t find the idea of paying for a second sub and buying the expansion(s) again to be appealing.
