Does anyone use combat assist with a caster dps for savage content? Been thinking about playing either a black/red mage or summoner.

hi. so after a good bit using miqo and playing with multiple classes, casters included, i think out of your options, summoner would be best in terms of dps and efficiency. with miqo, summoner’s rotation is pretty much on point. once you use firebird, youre essentially completely mobile alongside having crazy good dps. black mage rotations are super good as well but youll have to be 100% responsible for positioning and mechanics which is the number one difficulty with black mages to begin with but if you’re ok with that aspect, then black mage is super strong too. i’d suggest summoner in the end, though.

edit: with black mage, i’d suggest using macros to utilize their dps potential bc some 70+ skills with them are kinda awkward (and not even used).

    example of macro i use:
    /micon “Blizzard III”
    /merror off
    /ac “Despair
    /ac “Blizzard III”

As someone who plays acranist/summoner (or actually all classes if you don’t mind me bragging for a minute), I really want to empathize that you should not focus on healing as arcanist. Your job is that of a damage dealer for a reason.

As example: I have 80798 HP on lvl 80 with my summoner and casting physic heals me… 825 hp (or about 1225 when the heal crits). When it comes to parties let the heal do their job, and when going solo kill all the things before they can kill you.

    Hope that helps.

PS: If you are looking for a class that can hit things and heal themselves, you might wanna try out paladin and red mage.

Ninja is passable for normal dungeons, but endgame raiding it’s definitely not even close to performing well. With that said, she’s really good at making sure she keeps up on buffs and debuffs, which is one of my biggest downfalls.

Summoner is much the same, and like aeva said, she simply doesn’t know what to do with FBT. It’s a shame, because its the most mobile phase of our kit and I feel like she would shine with it.

Warrior is pretty much like every tank, it can grab and keep aggro but it isn’t effective at DPS or buff management. It’s okay for dungeons though.

Scholar isn’t great, but her DPS rotation is about as perfect as it can get. She prioritizes keeping stacks for Energy Drain and tends to cast a lot of non-instant heals unless it’s an emergency. She also doesn’t have the best logic regarding Indom, and she’ll never use Recitation, Soil, or any fairy skills. She’s fine for lower level dungeons of course, but she still doesn’t use fairy skills. Luckily those are pretty easy to weave in, so it’s not too much of a deal, but this is definitely a job I would use manually.

BLU support is minimal. It used to perform one specific combo and that was it, but I’m not sure about its current state to be honest.

    Regarding Summoner

It works until you hit 72 and get Firebird Trance. Then the rotation completely breaks after Bahamut phase, causing Miqo to only maintain DoTs/spam Ruin/use Aetherflow skills. This severely hurts DPS unless you turn off assist and do the Firebird phase manually.

These are just my experiences using Miqo’s Combat Assist for a while with different classes:

From what I can tell: Miqo will work well with ANY ranged character. Black Mages, Summoners, Red Mages, Bards, dancers, and Machinists perform well, up to 70. Bard and Dancer still shine at level 80, despite not having their full skill sets, Machinist is a little behind them, but under NO circumstance can Miqo outperform a Decent player using the same job who can use their 80 skills.
With an 80 BLM with 466 ilvl miqo can just barely belt out 14k dps, which is about as good as a decent monk.

Samurai and Monk perform well, but you should disable “Positionals” in the combat A.I. for certain fights (Dun Scaith, Leviathan) or go running off a cliff and stressing your healers.

Healers perform extremely well, except the Astro whom you’ve got to manage the cards and fighting the interface to USE those cards will not be fun (On the Plus Side, Miqo will NEVER Run out of MP using an Astro, so it’s extremely efficient).
A tip for healers might be to keep Rescue on one of your hot key buttons you can reach, and leave all your fluff spells on Hot Bar 10 and let Miqo fish for them.

Now for the Tanks… Miqo does a great job of grabbing and controlling mobs, but she’s got difficulty getting good damage out. It might be just my tanks (pld/drk/gnb all 80 with 460 ilvl), but I’m pretty sure miqo isn’t using her 80 skills, which means when using a pally get ready to REALLY fight the controls to use spells. Gunbreaker feels really good, it just needs to tighten up it’s rotation for crazy damage, I’m assuming Warrior will feel the same way.

    Specific Job inputs with Miqo:

Pally : You’re gonna fight your rotation to use your strongest abilities. This will be remedied when 80 skills are incorporated.

Dancer : She chooses a partner for you and such, but Dancers have to communicate with their DPS… Maybe if there were an option for Dancer to ONLY lay down the basic step for players that forget?

Black Mage : The Rotation is surprisingly good! I’d suggest removing Foul and manually activating Xenoglossy in it’s place. Do NOT try to use the 80 skills! You will confuse Miqo and slow her down, the only two spells you should actively use when steering the Black Mage is Xenoglossy and Aethereal Manipulation (really, these should be buttons one and two, A.M. will SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!) No Despair! No Umbral Soul!!! Best time to pop a potion is during your Blizzard spells (They’re the only one’s with a gap in the cast so you can actually pop an item without slowing down).
I’d love an option where the Black Mage just uses Transpose whenever you forget to…

Machinist/Bard : Very Solid! As long as you’re not obsessed with being the very best like no one ever was, Miqo does GREAT at these jobs. Even with a lack of 80 abilities, I’m sure miqo outperforms the average casual player. You will make a mistake with positioning before Miqo makes a mistake with this rotation.

Samurai/Monk/Dragoon : Another Very Solid Choice, the trick is to Trust Miqo and not interfere with it’s rotation (You’re not going to beat the best, but the best won’t be pointing and laughing at you). She won’t range find for you, so you’ve got to cover the ground yourself and stick with the opponent, but she auto-positions which could be a good and a bad thing (She won’t take into account any AoE Markers or falling to your death, so choose “Positionals” at your own risk). Yes, Miqo has back-flipped me into a pit more than a few times, and walked off an edge several times.

Grand Company Squad Missions : These are Great. Slow, but Great! Can’t wait for the Trust Version to Arrive.

Aside from the obvious, the only thing I can think of to improve the A.I. combat might be to allow minor tweaks and move substitutions, but I’m not a programmer and have no idea how hard such changes are.
The Combat Assist works VERY well for what it does: It’ll Assist you, sometimes a bit too aggressively, overtimes not efficiently enough, but if you got Miqo for more than just crafting (I got this thing for the Crafting, the combat assist was just a pleasant bonus) then Miqo will take care of you.

Anyone with odd tips to help with Combat Assist, Please Let Us Know! I know I’m probably only using half of what Miqo can actually do.

Note: I do NOT have a Blue Mage, Ninja, Warrior, Summoner, or Scholar. I have no info on them.

I know you all are hard at work expanding miqobot to be the beast she can be, but is there a possibility that dps rotations will be adjusted to level 80 before the arrival of 5.2? It works beautifully for some jobs like mch and brd (with the exception of manually having to press apex arrow which isn’t that big of an inconvenience) but I know jobs like Samurai, Red Mage, and Summoner definitely need some love losing out on almost 3-4k dps in the assist rotation because of the optimization of job only to level 70 (although I know a lot are optimized to around 78 from observations. Just wondering as I know developments will be halted again upon the arrival of 5.2 and sadly it feels like the development you guys are working so hard for and we are all graciously looking forward to, keeps getting pushed back due to the new content of the game.

Other than that I really think that miqobot is a queen. When the monotonous grind of farming eden savage and other content begins to wear on your fingers, having her take the reigns is truly amazing. Keep up the great work and I look forward to the future developments and hoping they come fairly soon rather than way later =)

Summoner is one of the jobs that underwent a complete redesign in Shadowbringers expansion. The old rotation can not be optimal and must be reimplemented, just like the rest of combat jobs.

Please be patient as we prepare the combat system upgrade for the next version.

Hey, there all. A tad new here so I apologize if this is in the wrong section, or if this has already been posted somewhere OR if this is just too much to be asked but I was wondering if someone could make an effective scenario or even just grids work too so I can quickly level summoner with ease from 30-50. I see there are plenty of stuff made from 50 onward but I haven’t been really able to find much lower than that. Scenario would be phenomenal but even just a set of grids for different grinding spots would work just the same! Having a really hard time grasping the process of putting together grids but have gotten down making scenarios quite easier as there’s not really any coding, its just putting puzzle pieces together essentially.

Maybe im just not looking in the right spot though? Ive heard palace of the dead bounced around but Im not sure where that is or how to automate that.

Thanks all for any help you can give. Ive used it a ton for gathering and crafting and its just amazing how much work and thought has gone into the bot. This is my first delve into combat so Im just kinda lost.

Please keep in mind that Miqobot was not tested with 71+ content and may perform unpredictably.

    Miqobot v1.3.25 – Patch Notes

    • All new mounts (10) are supported.
    • All new aetherytes (17) are supported by Scenario Engine.
    • All new bait (11) and new fish (178) is supported by Scenario Engine.
    • New areas (8) are supported. Flying and swimming navigation should work without issues.
    • Weather in new areas is identified according to your Main Scenario progress.
(At the moment we don’t know if this affects fishing or gathering. If you encounter any issues, please let us know.)

The following features are fully compatible with the new game client:

    • Fishing. (71+ abilities are not supported.)
    • Gathering. (71+ abilities are not supported.)
    • Spearfishing.
    • Desynthesis.
    • Chocobo Racing.
    • MGP Minigames.
    • 3D Radar.
    • 3D Editor.
    • Scenario Engine.

    Crafting Solver

    • New crafting levels (71-80) are correctly identified and converted to effective levels (390-430).
    • 71+ abilities are not supported.
    • Recipe Search works correctly with new recipes and is supported by Scenario Engine.
    • New Steady Hand II and Byregot’s Blessing are correctly identified by all crafter classes.
    • Byregot’s Brow is removed from Crafting Solver.
    • Significant changes are introduced to crafting math.

The exact crafting formulae is now available directly in the game client. However, it heavily relies on tabular data that must be datamined separately:
    – Recommended Craftsmanship
    – Recommended Control
    – Level difference Progress factor
    – Level difference Quality factor
It will take some time before Miqobot adapts the new crafting math.

In general, Crafting Solver should be able to handle new recipes, but we do not guarantee that it will work for everybody.
We would ask you to experiment and provide feedback. If you are not satisfied with the results for any reason, please consider resorting to macro crafting for the time being.

    Combat System

    • All standard AoE omens are datamined and fully integrated into the curent version.
    • Ability charges are identified but not conserved. Miqobot will expend all charges as long as their effects do not overlap. This issue will be addressed in future updates.
    • TP is not yet removed from rotations, but considered a constant of 1000. This should not cause any issues, but it will be handled correctly in the next update.
    • Summoner pets and Scholar fairies are not summoned. Since they do not appear in the party list anymore, we have to implement a new way to identify them correctly.
    • Gunbreaker: Basic combo is implemented.
    • Dancer: Basic combo is implemented.

Please note, we do not recommend using Assist Mode with Gunbreaker and Dancer yet. Basic combos are implemented only to allow them to participate in Squadron Dungeons.

    • Paladin: Stance handling is disabled. Combo is updated. Savage Blade is replaced with Riot Blade.
    • Warrior: Stance handling is disabled. Combo is updated. Skull Sunder is replaced with Maim.
    • Dark Knight: Stance handling is disabled. Combo is updated. Spinning Slash is replaced with Syphon Strike.
    • Astrologian: Cards management is disabled.
    • Red Mage: AoE rotation is updated.
    • Machinist: Wildfire is released from Ammo alignment. Miqobot will still try to align it with Reassemble.
    • Ninja: Shadow Fang usage is updated.
    • Dragoon: Heavy Thrust is replaced with Disembowel.

The general state of job rotations is as follows:

    • 71+ abilities are not supported.
    • PLD: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Prominence, Cover, Divine Veil, Intervention.
    • WAR: Usable at levels 1-70. Not supported: Mythril Tempest, Raw Intuition, Shake It Off.
    • DRK: Usable at levels 1-64. Not supported: Flood of Darkness, Edge of Darkness, Carve and Spit.
    • GNB: Not usable. Only the basic combo is implemented.
    • MNK: Usable at levels 1-64. Not supported: Four-point Fury, Riddle of Earth.
    • DRG: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Dragon Sight.
    • NIN: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Hakke Mujinsatsu.
    • SAM: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Meditate, Ikishoten.
    • BRD: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Sidewinder, Troubadour, Nature’s Minne.
    • MCH: Not usable. More than 50% of the toolkit is not supported.
    • DNC: Not usable. Only the basic combo is implemented.
    • BLM: Usable at levels 1-66. Not supported: Freeze, Between the Lines.
    • SMN: Not usable. More than 50% of the toolkit is not supported.
    • RDM: Usable at levels 1-64. Not supported: Verraise.
    • WHM: Usable at levels 1-68. Not supported: Afflatus Solace.
    • SCH: Semi-usable. Fairy is not summoned and fairy abilities are not triggered.
    • AST: Semi-usable. Cards management is completely disabled.

    Known Issues

    – When starting Assist Mode on Dark Knight, Miqobot crashes if “Heals and Buffs” setting is enabled.
This issue will be addressed in the next update.
In the meantime, please disable “Heals and Buffs” setting before starting Assist Mode on Dark Knight.

    – “Beta” notification is displayed in Miqobot window title.
This is a minor issue that does not affect Miqobot performance.

Currently running Stone vigil a lot for the Moogle tokens, I seem to die quite a bit on the Isgebind fight, One time I completely timed out of the dungeon constantly losing to Isgebind… Anyhow, I’m Logging the time it takes each run, running once as each class if I die more then 5 times to the final boss I’m not keeping that record and re-running to get a more consistent time result with the other classes. (AKA why theirs a huge jump in time between my ast and my white mage)

*Willing to do more tests with different compositions this will be a work in progress
*Initial testing is done with Arcanist because of both the GC arcanist will cast Shadow flare, if you have two archers only ONE will dot. Will get around to testing with other GC classes all with offensive 5 at a later time
*Everyone is set to Offensive 5
*Everyone is level 61-70 wearing Augmented shire gear or better so every slot is synched down
*all skills on the bar and hotkey’d all class quests done
*the 3 squad skills on bar and hot-keyed already
*Posting start and finish data in case I did bad math
*Starting time from when Miqobot says “(9:07:35 PM) Squadron Dungeons started.”
*Stopping time when Miqobot says “(9:25:37 PM) Full dungeon complete! ^_^ (1/1)”
    *Runs without full clear selected

Anyhow here’s my first run Results for them all.

Healers, Marauder tank and 2 Arcanists
Ast with 1 death took 17 minutes. 4:04pm to 4:21pm
Whitemage with 2 deaths took 19 minutes. 5:15pm to 5:34pm
Sch with no deaths took 17 minutes 5:57 pm to 6:14 pm
Tanks, with Conj and 2 Arcanists
Warrior, 1 death 16 Minutes 6:23 pm to 6:39 pm
Paladin 2 deaths 19 minutes 6:48 pm to 7:07 pm
Dark Knight 5 deaths(OMG) 32 minutes 7:12 to 7:44 (yeah I re-read that one a few times to make sure) I suppose ill redo dark knight later
    DPS, Marauder, conjurer, 1 arcanist
Monk no deaths 15 minutes 7:46 pm to 8:01 pm
Dragoon 1 death 26 minutes. 8:05 pm to 8:31 pm
Ninja no deaths 19 minutes. 8:44 pm to 9:03 pm
Sam no deaths 18 minutes. 9:07 pm to 9:25 pm
Bard no deaths 18 minutes. 9:44 pm to 10:02 pm
Machinist 0 Deaths 15 minutes. 10:17 pm to 10:32 pm
Blackmage 0 Deaths 16 minutes. 10:044 pm to 11:00 pm (GC Healer died, Amazing Save pulled off by Arcanist)
Summoner 1 Death 19 minutes. 11:06 pm to 11:25 pm (another awesome save this time by Miqobot ^_^)
Red mage 3 deaths 23 Minutes. 11:30 pm to 11:53)

*Both the Ninja and the Sam Run, they almost died running through the AoE to get to the other side of the mob, Sam almost died standing in it when LB was available it started to cast it inside the AoE (Sheets of ice). It’s what killed my Dragoon on its run. Health seems to get low after the AoE damage from Rime wreath and take down sometimes the GC ai won’t heal me for some reason grr.. but that I suppose is the nature of GC companions.
*watched all of the runs after Dark Knight deaths spree
*bard almost died (14 hp), stood in the middle of the breath attack and got hit with rime wreath
*Blk Mage Almost wiped at Isgebind because upon entering the last long hallway it targeted the patrolling dragon, and the tank ran all the way down the halls spawning the ice sprites killing Cecily (my conjurer) proceeded to fight the boss without a healer, at less then 70% health on everyone. When Both Hastaloeya(Marauder) and I were below 50% health Toragana(arcanist) Was legit only casting psychic to heal us alternating I was on the edge of my seat watching this play out, Never seen that happen before ever.
*Summoner legit circled the boss over and over without engaging at all died to breathe attack. That happened to me once before last week as well in solhm al.
*Smn Almost wiped a 2nd time(due to unfortunate Sheet of ice placement got all 3 GC mates and they stood in it ><) It was awesome to watch it swift cast raise the tank twice! and the healer. looks like it never hardcasts raise even if their downtime like when isgebind flys up.
*RDM did the thing that Smn did, it started the fight, and fought Isgebind till he flew into the air and landed. When it re-landed all it did was run a circle to try to stay on Isgebind’s flank while isgebind had the tank targeted and died due to rime wreath followed by standing in the breath attack. (If it re-engages when isgebind Lands I bet this could be prevented)
*RDM Died twice to Touch down, was low on health due to previous touchdowns and rime wreaths, GC healers can really stink sometimes, maybe if the bot didn’t place them right under isgebind when he lands this could be avoided? Touch Down knocks everyone away and deals damage to everyone So what you could have made up in Dps both melee and ranged is lost because of the far knockback.
*Since I need a metric crap ton of Moogle tokens ill most likely do more testing and do best of 10 runs, just establishing a baseline here. will update as I move along

    * Yayy with all those runs done ima post this then get some sleep, tomorrow ill run a ton as a machinist and see what GC ally nets the best time /10 runs prob only do 10 a day, to be honest, make some sort of a project out of it… If someone has already done something similar with notes posted please let me know.

    In my own humble opinion…

It really depends on how drastic the changes are and how much of the new rotations and skills line up with what’s already been worked on with Miqo. J ust from what we know, Miqo’s combat features will be down for at least a little while. I mean, half of the jobs are being completely overhauled, while only a handful are getting simple skill additions and minor changes (or ‘simple’ evolutions as the live letter stated.) But, for example, Summoner’s entire kit has been rebuilt, and Machinist is basically a new job. Tanks have entire new skills worked into their kit, even from the 1-50 range (AoE combos, for example: PLD has total Eclipse earlier, and gets what APPEARS to be the second part of the AoE combo, Prominence, at level 40. DRK also gets “Edge of Darkness”, a new skill at 40 now as well, and there’s no info on what it even does or how it’s utilized.) Even RDM is having early skills reworked, as one of the live letter tooltips showed the new AoE version of Veraero was going to be unlocked at Lv.22. AST’s card system is totally new, Pets have been completely reworked (no more pet bar, pet actions now a part of player spell repertoire), and so on and so on. It’s a massive overhaul of the battle system beyond just tossing TP, and Miqo’s team, while probably not having to start *completely* from scratch, will have a lot of work ahead of them in the second half of this year. Bear in mind, they are fans and players themselves, and therefore still need time to beat and level all the jobs up themselves (form 70-80 at least), wait and test out rotations (as nothing will be set yet in the community concerning optimization) and such. There’s a chance that once the embargo is lifted on the 29th that the release of all the skill information could give the team a head-start at approaching how to tweak the skills already implemented in Miqo’s AI, but until they can get hands-on experience with how the skills interact themselves anything can change from the media tour build to launch.

TL;DR – Enjoy the combat assist for all it’s worth now while you can. Miqo’s combat features will most likely be down longer than we all want, but it’s simply necessary and there’s no getting around it. It sucks, but all we can do is support the team (keep those subs up and shout out some encouragement here in the forums!) and give them the time they need to get it all sorted. If we get updated up to the Lv.60 job rotations before ShB launch, then I’ll consider that a bonus and just have fun with it for as long as I can. That’s my 2 cents on the subject, anyway…

How are rotations configured? cause it seems my Summoner never uses Dreadwyrm Trance and Death Flare, he just sits on full Aethertail Attunment the whole time. I’m pre 70 so that may be it, but @60-69 that could be some extra DPS

Love, love, LOVE the squadron missions!! So far I’m using it to work all my combat classes up to 50. Working on side classes is so tedious after maxing your main class. Really hope to see more dungeons supported soon! Can’t wait to max my account with this INCREDIBLE program!!

Thank you for your kind words very much!

Ive been using the combat assist in dungeons for a few days now as each role, and i must say it’s working great! Only having issues with summoner, which just seems to spam ruin III and nothing else.

Thank you for your feedback very much!
Level 66 rotations are not implemented yet, therefore Miqobot is not aware of Bio III and Miasma III upgrades.

Is there a list somewhere of what levels are supported combat wise?

All jobs are currently optimized for levels 1-50.
Partial rotations are implemented for all levels, however some 51+ abilities may be used incorrectly or not used at all. We continue working on battle rotations and releasing incremental updates in the upcoming versions.

Any rough timeline for the 53 squadron dungeon release?

The next Squadron Dungeon update is already in the testing phase. It will be released within the next week.

Would it be possible to add an option to turn off tank stances in a future version?

Just set a different stance and Miqo won’t change your stance to a tank one.

    • Yes, you can select a DPS stance at any moment and Miqobot will not override your choice.
    • If you don’t want Miqobot to select a Tank stance at all, you can simply remove it from your hotbar.
    • If you still want to be able to use it yourself, you can create a macro for this ability and hide it behind a different icon.
      For example:

      /micon "Shield Oath"
      /ac "Grit"
