I’m not sure if this is possible, and I doubt it, but Miqobot can certainly help you to catch it.

All you have to do is the following:
    0. Set up an ACT trigger to give you a sound notification whenever you receive the Fisher’s Intuition buff or when you catch a Giant Takitaro (which triggers intuition)
    1. Use any big fish tracker like Carbuncleplushy or GatherBuddy (Dalamud Plugin) to check when Giant Takitaro is up / go to its fishing spot whenever there are thunderstorms or thunder as weather
    2. Equip Glowworms, set Miqo to ignore small and medium tugs and use Chum, start Miqobot fishing (as long as there are thunderstorms/thunder) and tab out of the game to do whatever you want
    3. Pause Miqobot and tab back into the game when ACT gives you a notification that you got the intuition buff, quickly reel in your fishing line, switch to Topwater Frogs, unpause Miqo and let the bot do its thing for as long as you have intuition
    4. If you catch Namitaro, congrats, if not, go back to step 2

Shouldn’t be too hard to catch that fish. Iirc it was one that I caught with Miqobot, and I’m only missing 15 or so fish for the Big Fish title (most of them are Stormblood & Shadowbringers fish with absurd requirements or super rare windows).

I customized the one from Diadem 2nd round in Firmament, it’s messy but it should suite your purposes. It also labels which weather patterns to go to which destinations. Spends most of its time going for double hook (3 fish) at Calm Cloudtop.

As it uses fixed coordinates you may wish to add another waypoint and randomize the landing as it looks very suspicious as it stays in the same position.

As it reuses older ones you may have to delete the old grid/navigation and use the one included with the import.
    (Diadem Fishing Grid)

    Hello,

I am looking for a scenario that fishes for the artisanal fish that are only catchable during the umbral weathers (i.e., all the non-standard weather patterns in Diadem). I know that there is a Diadem fishing scenario, but it does not seem to work for patch 6.11.

If anyone has a working fishing scenario that fits this niche need, please reply with it.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

what is the approximate release date for the next update? Will it contain the spearfishing revamp?

You wouldn’t need to, it is a normal fishing area, just use the fishing tab on Miqo.

Hi! I’ve made quite a few scenarios, some fairly complex so feel like I’m very familiar with the scenario editing. Yet I can’t figure this one out. Big fishing often requires fishing during a particular time and/or weather window, and often they can be hours (or days) until the next available window. So I’d like to walk to random waypoints during the downtime to prevent timing out, and then when the appropriate window comes do some fishing for a few minutes. Right now I’ve got:

    Chapter 1:
    fishPreset(grandis)
    grid(grandis)
    bait(Short Bill Minnow)

    workUntil(22:01et)
    randomWaypoint(0,1,2,3)

    Chapter 2:
    goodWeather(Clouds)
    findfish()
    fish(7)

    repeatAll(10000)

I’ve noticed workUntil doesn’t work with randomWaypoint. So I’m not sure how to cover the move around ocassionally during the downtime to not time out, and then only fish between 22:00 and 24:00.

It is – technically – possible to use the scenario engine to fully automate something like that, but it would be very fragile and easily prone to breaking. You would have to have Miqobot send specific keypresses, rather than telling her what to do and letting her handle it, which means no error recovery if a keypress is missed. If you so much as bump your mouse at the wrong time, it all breaks. On top of that, it would be a lot of work to put together. Overall, Miqo is just not the bot you want for something like that.

However, if you aren’t trying to avoid playing the game entirely (which always confuses me) then Miqo is absolutely fantastic for convenience and QoL. Automated fishing, crafting, and gathering, with custom navigation grids and a fairly intelligent pathing AI, plus the scenario engine allowing you to assemble a sequence of actions… she can make the most tedious parts of crafting and gathering a lot simpler, and even help level you up with such things. Given ten or twenty minutes or work at the start, you could set her up to fish in the Diadem for the full three hours unattended, for example. She can even desynth the stuff you get, once you turn it in.

The biggest uses I have personally are gathering shards/crystals/clusters because you need a lot of them, crafting high-level recipes to maximise HQ chances, fishing because I have ADHD and can’t focus on it that long, and getting MGP for the same reason. The 3d radar can be really useful if you’re looking for a specific named entity but can’t find it, or just to highlight things like treasure coffers in dungeons so you don’t miss them. I barely use the combat system, but I have had her run trusts for me on occasion, especially to level my GC squadron.

All in all, if that sounds like the sort of stuff you’d want help with (not full-blown set-and-forget automation) then Miqobot is the bot to use. The best one by far, no contest. But if you want to have a bot play the whole game for you… well, I won’t pretend to understand why, but you do you – just don’t ask Miqo to do it, she’s not that kind of bot.

Hello Ai, nice to meet you! 🙂 I hope you and the team are doing okay (well, as ‘okay’ as possible given the terrible situation).
In the other thread it was stated that the team only enjoys around 10% of the development work. I’m curious what the other 90% is that the team does not enjoy. (Or perhaps it would be shorter/easier to list the enjoyable things :)) Is that something you have knowledge of?

Thank you for your support and for this quite interesting question!

I will try to answer both parts.

Will start from not enjoyable parts:

First thing that comes to mind is fixing the bot when it breaks after every game update. It is very monotonous and boring work. Imagine like if you had a vase that shatters into many pieces every month, sometimes every few weeks. And you have to glue it up again and again, and it breaks into different pieces, so you can’t just remember the order in which these pieces need to be put together. Sometimes it’s 100 pieces and sometimes it’s 1000.

Next one is to make quality of life features. Since it’s not to make something new but just small improvements that take a lot of time to develop but don’t have a lot of impact in the end.

To work on UI is also not a fun task. It takes a lot of time and we also are very restricted in what can be done with it, so this makes working with it even harder. It takes a lot of steps, such as design part, programming part and attaching new features.

To remake features which have been done before already but got broken because of some new changes in game. So instead of working on something new and important we need to fix old content.

To do optimization of the code, to make it work faster and be less laggy. Or optimization of the rotations, when lots of work makes it better for 1% only.

Testing absolutely everything. There are some interesting parts as well, but you can’t choose what you want to test and what not. If you need to test every dungeon with every job separately then you have to do it.

There are also parts like server management or dealing with fraud which slows down development process a lot.

Of course there are some more of such things but it would be way too long to describe them all.

    As for the enjoyable work:

It is definitely would be making new rotations for battle jobs and trying them out. It is also a long but interesting process. You add one skill at a time, writing all the conditions for it, in what situations it has to be used, on how many mobs/people, etc. Checking how it works and if all is fine you add next one. And you need to put them in an order of priorities, so that they would be used in a right order. It is a simplified way to describe it, in reallity there are much more additional things to it, but again it would be way too long to describe all.

Next one is making new dungeons. My favourite part is actually to make navigation meshes for these dungeons. Especially since they added explorer’s mode now and you don’t need to kill all the mobs and bosses again every time when the dungeon timer runs out. It could happen because these meshes are not small lines like in gathering but they have to cover every small corner of the dungeon and there are a lot of roads and connections in them. And as well you need to add conditions to the small arenas where you need to fight mobs, open chests or don’t run into an obstacle, etc. But this part is fun for me like I said. We also enjoy making boss mechanics.

I would also like to mention new features such as spearfishing, for example. We are very excited to work on it when the time finally comes.

Just started using this bot so maybe I messed up somewhere. I have all settings correct, keybinds in place, and all skill visible on shortcuts. Using what seems to be a popular Diadem Gathering preset. Here’s logs:

So all I’m gonna say here is my personal experience with MMO minion.

Minion is an extremely powerful bot. Things that require writing out extensive scenarios can be done with one button press, and honestly done better than Miqobot. With that said though, it is more expensive. It can do everything Miqobot can do and more robustly and easier to use, but it costs quite a bit more money.

Minion is very good when it comes to combat. It can auto grind fates. It can do quests. And it can assist you. It can assist in PvP

    And more but…

It has a very robust Trust system. Every trust is available and can be completed quite fast. Good leveling etc. But, it’s a one time paid addons.

It has assist/combat profiles that are very good. This can be used during fates or dungeons, or used to do the combat for you while you control movement. People have reported getting pink parses in savage with the profile doing all the combat, just need to move for mechanics. But, it’s a one time paid addons PER class. However the free profiles aren’t horrible.

It’s crafting and gathering capabilities are very robust. Often times the developer will have everything programmed. So you just select what you want, and it will do everything for you. Select what you want to gather and what you want to craft, and it’ll do it all in one fell swoop. It has a pretty good auto solver. Can do masterbook crafts pretty decently. But, this is a myriad of one time paid addons. This is very expensive.

It has more utilities, such as the ability to have game chat fed into discord. Auto do retainers. Lots of quest stuff, like it will do the MSQ for you. It will do beast tribes for you. Hell it even will complete the fishing log hahaha. Do eureka, do deep dungeon. But once again… paid addons.

I should say some of these paid addons are VERY expensive. One time payment addons a lot with a subscription. For me personally I used Minion for combat based stuff. And once I leveled all my combat classes I would unsub from Minion lol. I would use miqobot for everything else. Minion the user has less control. I really enjoyed how customizable miqobot is, and writing your own scenarios is quite fun.

I’m not here to endorse MMOMinion, I’m just giving you my honest opinion, and some of the addons that they have. It is powerful but quite a bit more expensive. There used to be a large amount of free content made by the community, but it kind of has died down.

I’m currently trying to get miqo’bot to help me with some crafting achivements. To be precise, I’m crafting HQ items when doing the “craft X times for level Z-Y” because HQ items also counts towards the “craft X amount of HQ items”, so I made a very simple macro that only uses Trained Finesse and Basic Synthesis (my crafters are all lvl 90) and put said macro on my hotbar with a one-key command to reach it. As the title suggest VERY new to miqo’bot and am very unused to the technical terms and how coding works etc, so my miqo’bot stops at selecting the item I want to craft and then nothing happens.
For what it’s worth, using miqo’bot for fishing, trust dungeons and gathering works like a charm so I don’t think it’s got anything to do with my keybind setups.
