I’ve got most classes to 80 and have used miqobot in dungeons/trials/raids including savage and left it running on target dummy in 480 gear so my comments below should cover a wide range of situations. Within each category they are ordered roughly in order of my preference for combat assist. Note this is accurate as of writing on v1.3.33 of miqobot. Some of the changes are so minor and seemingly so easy to implement (e.g. scorch on RDM) that I expect they will be fixed in the next major release. Some jobs however like BLM, MNK, DRG and AST I would never recommend using miqobot for anything other than casual content until some kind of specific raid module is included. Note also that the dps I have quoted is without any interventions, expect it to be a bit higher if you do the interventions I mention.

    Tanks:
For tanks I’m only going to talk about the single target rotation as I wouldn’t recommend using miqobot in dungeons since its hard to hold enmity without miqobot switching targets correctly.

    WAR ~9.5k
Does not weave in onslaught optimally and seems to sit at 2 stacks of infuriate and not dump beast gauge enough so you often clip some of it off. Given this though it performs everything else almost perfect and does decently high dps with no interventions required so would recommend.

    GNB ~9k
Only skill it doesn’t use is bloodfest which you don’t have to weave in perfectly optimally to make good use of. Does everything else basically perfect. I can recommend playing since you still do respectable dps even without bloodfest, however you may want to try and weave it in.

    DRK ~8.5k
Pretty much the only skill it doesn’t use is living shadow, which you can use manually yourself but it is a pain to line it up optimally. It does save mana for blackest night which is nice, but obviously you don’t have the burst you usually would from dumping all your mana if you were playing it manually. Can only recommend playing if you don’t mind keeping track of living shadow and using it optimally, otherwise its a huge dps loss.

    PLD ~7.5k
Does not use Atonement or Confiteor which breaks a lot of the nice timing and transition of PLD causing a pretty huge dps loss that only gets worse as the fight goes on and you don’t recover your mana quickly for the spells phase. Can not recommend.

    Healers:
Again only talking about ST dps also I never use miqobot to do any kind of healing as I like to do that myself.

    SCH ~8.5k
Seems to work almost perfectly, while it doesn’t dump energy drain right at the start to be optimal its actually better that it leaves it as you can go basically full auto on the dps since it will only use energy drain when aetherflow is about to come back up. Highly recommended.

    WHM ~10k
Doesn’t do the optimal opener and doesn’t weave assize perfectly but I mean it spams glare nicely. I personally don’t use it because whm is the easiest rotation in the game and actually breaks my rhythm more than anything, but obviously it works nicely 🙂

    AST ~7.5k
Only spams malefic and combust, doesn’t use earthly star even if you macro it correctly, doesn’t use lightspeed and doesn’t buff self with cards at all. Would not recommend at all especially since there’s a lot of complexity with fishing for cards to put on your highest damage dealers and to proc divination etc..

    DPS:
I’ve used dps in all situations including in dungeons with aoe so below comments will reflect that.

    MCH ~ 14k
This is the best job to use with miqobot hands down. The only things it gets wrong are wildfire timings and not using flamethrower on aoe everything else is near flawless and its completely handfree. You don’t have to worry about cast times can just move completely freely and let miqobot take over. Highly Recommended.

    SMN ~ 15k
Works almost perfectly, uses an almost flawless rotation and you even have moments where you can run around totally hands free e.g. phoenix phase. Only thing I’ve noticed is that it seems to overuse ruin II quite heavily in that basically every time you move it will use it, when waiting to recast ruin III would be preferable. Also on adds it seems to want to cast miasma even on things that will die within a few seconds and be basically pointless. Given this though still highly recommended.

    RDM ~ 14k
Works great, only thing it doesn’t do for whatever reason is scorch which is easy to do manually and requires no scheduling. You will also probably want to either turn off dashes and backsteps and do them manually or take out displacement as it will use it when you don’t want to and backflip you to death. Recommended if you don’t mind pressing scorch every minute or so and manually doing the dashes.

    NIN ~ 13k
Only thing it doesn’t use is bunshin, everything else it does very well. I don’t know the optimal ninja rotation manually so I can’t comment on how optimal it is but it seems to do a good job. If you’re happy to weave in bunshin and keep track of your positionals then this is a good job to use.

    SAM ~ 13.5k
Doesn’t use shoha, but you can weave it in as best as possible. Still does respectable dps even given this just you will want to keep track of your position and maybe turn off dashes as it will prioritise those if you’re away from the boss and if you’re trying to do ex or savage content this will wipe you or the group. Would only recommend if you already know SAM well enough to weave in dashes and shoha.

    BLM ~ 14k
Doesn’t use any 70+ skills and also will just dump leylines wherever which is very inconvenient and either gives away the fact you’re botting or makes you look like a bad BLM. The hard part of playing BLM is the positioning anyway and not the rotation so would not recommend unfortunately.

    Non-80:
These I don’t have at 80 but have them all at 70+ so comments will reflect that.

    BRD
Totally hands free at 70, assume it doesn’t use apex arrow or burst shot yet so those will have to be weaved in somehow.

    DRG
Works nicely at 70, but of course have to make sure dashes is turned on otherwise 50% of your dps disappears. I would highly not recommend using miqobot on this for any kind of ex or savage content however as playing with dashes turned on will get you or your raid killed.

    MNK
Hard to use correctly if you don’t have blind positionals turned on, which I would not recommend using too much as it will make you look very suspicious most of the time and doesn’t work at all in ex or savage content. Not sure about 80 skills, but assume it doesn’t use them and I wouldn’t use it anyway because of the other problems.

    DNC
Works perfectly at 70, you of course still have to select a dance partner. Not sure if it uses 70+ skills like flourish, saber dance and improvisation but will assume not.

Why are there no single nav grids for regions that cover everything (all nodes / fishing / maybe some npc locations, ect ect)
is there a downside to a nav that large ?

You know… This has been on my mind a while now. It would probably fall under QoL updates, but how about Miqobot gets multiple thought bubbles to reflect what she is doing? Crossed swords for combat assist, turning gears for crafting preparation, a fish for fishing, coins for MGP minigames, chocobo for chocobo racing, and probably some more I can’t think of right now.

If this is something not out of the question, I wouldn’t mind to commission half body artworks and donating them for that cause. Adds quite a bit of character if you ask me.

Let me start that by saying that I am not new to botting (*sigh* I’m old). I was there when bots for other games just started, and also when some of them ended (one due to the game being shut down). So far there are, out of about 6 or so bots I tried over the years, 2 I would recommend for 2 games. For FFXIV, it is obviously Miqobot. Why? Let me tell you of the experience I made in the last 2 weeks.

See, I get that Miqobot does not plan to make any approach towards PVP. Not only is it quite the extra workload to program and upkeep an additional combat routine, but from what I gather, the Miqobot team wants to be nice to other players. But because some stuff is only available through PVP, I went ahead and got another bot. I will not name it however as this could be considered advertisement/badmouthing, and it might be against the ToS, and honestly just a dick move in general.

…With all due respect, fuck that bot. I have never seen a system that requires so much tinkering to get it to work. I had to ask at least 4 or 5 questions before the damn thing performed the way I wanted it to. And after everything was done, sure it worked for PvP, but it’s PvE capabilities are dwarfed by what Miqobot is capable of. Not only is that kitty cat more user friendly with a few but important options, it is also way more… competent? I feel like that word fits here.

Miqobot is also a lot more attractive in the price-performance ratio since it offers combat, fishing (this one got me here in the first place by the way) gathering, MGP farming, basically automated gathering if you put some effort into it, a radar, and an absolute marvel of a crafting engine and scenario engine. All of that for 10 bucks? Again, no info on the other bot, but while it offers PvP and PvE as well as crafting, the amount of work you have to put in it to get these parts to work does not justify the price in my opinion. I feel almost dirty for not appreciating this sooner.

So yeah. Thank you Miqobot team. I think it’s safe to say you have the best bot for this game.

PS: A serious question. Can I just donate you some extra money via PayPal? I don’t need anything for it. If so: Instructions on how to do that would be great.

I understand that Patience is only activated by Miqobot when full GP in order to maximize the number of tugs, but we often are fishing for rare big fish that only are up for limited windows and often need Patience up as much as possible, so that Powerful Hook can be used.

Is there a way that Miqobot could be modified to have the user specify the minimum GP for Patience to be used (or have Miqobot calculate this condition), so that we can get two or three uses of Patience, one after another, during the limited time window that rare big fish are up? This is particularly important when we need to mooch one or more fishes to trigger Fisherman’s Intuition to make the rare big fish available and we need Patience up at that time to catch that rare big fish.

In addition, because some rare big fish are virtually impossible to catch without use of Powerful Hook, it often isn’t worthwhile to keep casting without Patience/Powerful Hook up. As such, is there currently a way requiring Miqobot to not fish if it doesn’t have Patience/Powerful Hook available (i.e., perhaps don’t fish without max GP)?

Thanks Lyfox. I am trying to increase my fishing level but I just started this game 4 days ago so I am still learning the best that I can about how to do grids and stuff for the bot to be able to assist with the actions needed. Any help would be appreciated by anyone. I wish there was already low level fishing scenarios created but seems they start at level 50 from what I have seen.

Yes this is what scenarios are for. Create a simple grid around your fishing spot then do this:

    waypoint(0)
    fish(30)
    waypoint(1)
    fish(30)
    waypoint(2)
    fish(30)

Is there a way to set it up where you can fish for a set number of casts then have it move automatically after a certain amount of time and recast and keep moving after so many quest and have it repeat those actions a lot of times? I’m asking because obviously with fishing you can only do it for about 30 minutes before you are unable to fish at that location any longer and must move. However, I only need to move 10 feet and can start casting again. So is there a way to do this? Thank you

Ah, thank you. But, why does the fishing bot use the “switch to hotbar 4”? Do I have to set the fishing actions in hotbar 4?

The fishing bot works, but it keeps repeating this after casting: Uhoh. There’s no key bound to action ‘Switch to Hotbar 4’

I’ve put all of the actions on hotbar 1. Anyone have any idea what the issue is?

On the scenario page, would it be possible to be able to re-arrange the order of scenarios please? At the moment they’re listed in the way that they’re added and it doesn’t look great aesthetically to me. Would it also be possible to add sub-categories to scenarios so I could group my crafting ones together, my fishing ones and my gathering ones?

Yes, this feature is already planned in one of the upcoming QoL updates.

In the meantime, you can reorganize your scenarios by closing Miqobot and editing the presets.miqo file manually.
You can find the description of Miqobot file format in the General guide.

    ninja update?

maybe it has already been asked. but after Kassatsu it will cast Ten -> Chi -> Mudra (Raiton). But at lvl 80. but it would be optimal if it would go Kassatsu -> Ten -> Jin -> mudra (Hyosho Ranryu)

Yes, only level 70 rotations are supported at the moment.
The combat system is in early beta and offers limited functionality. We are working towards endgame support and it will take a few more upgrades.
    Thank you for your request!

Has something changed in the Lyhe Chiah spearfishing grid because I went there to get chiaroglow aethersands (reduction from fish) and got a new fishing log entry for a new fish ‘Daisy turban’ but didn’t once get the required fish for the reduction to get chiaroglow.

Ignore me, don’t know if it was me or something went wrong with the bot but it had changed the gig head to small and it should have been large.
