This basically means you had to either complete MSQ up to 4.56 in advance, and then gather your stuff via raiding/Eureka+/genesis/market, or just go my way without wasting time/gil.
Just fyi: The majority of players in FFXIV do not raid at all. Neither 8-man raids, nor 24-man raids, because there is a high amount of players with social anxiety issues. Most just do casual stuff and if you just complete the story dungeons, you will automatically get gear with which you can reach Shadowbringers, unless you’re VERY unfortunate, plus, from completing the story dungeons from 4.1+ you automatically also get allagan tomestones, from which you can also buy additional gear pieces, so you don’t even have to grind them.
No matter from which way you look it, you can simply progress through the story normally with barely any grind (maybe you have to run one dungeon twice or so) and you get to the expansion just fine, where you get high iLvl gear thrown in your face right from the start.
So I was right.
You were right and you were wrong.
Yes, old quests award you with a coffer full of i360 now, but I was also right, that it is completely pointless, as the Shadowbringers main questline automatically awards you with even better gear right from the beginning every few quests. Heck, I even got better gear than my i400 best in slot gear, once I reached level 75 and I already got equal gear to Stormblood best in slot raid gear once I was level 72.
So my question is: when is it safe to assume you are not banned this time, to buy and apply ShB codes on all botting accounts?
You get an e-mail the instant you get banned, no matter if there’s a maintenance or not.
Well, anyway: do you have to enter your usual login (one you use to log into the game) or rather your email into store.eu.square-enix-games.com?
Doesn’t really matter, because in the Square Enix store, where you buy the addon, you will only receive a code via e-mail, which you have to redeem on a separate page to get yet another code (instructions are all in the email), which then you can put into any account via the Mogstation (under the button “Enter preorder code”)
I’d also like to add something here:
Most players (who are not really happy) are divided into two unequal groups:
This is also a false assumption.
2) the minority which has gone through the elitest challenges, appeared victorious and now whines about challenges being too easy (never justifying any tools that make it even more easier).
Note: as players train their skills, they tend to move from the first group to the second one, thus starting to whine again, just because of directly opposite reason. And yes, I know the feeling personally.Ultimates were specifically created for this kind of players.
“Elitists” were “whining”, that they had nothing to do after they’ve cleared savage several times, so after a few years Square Enix decided to make content specifically for that 0.018% of players who faceroll a savage tier and decided to put the highest possible amount of difficulty into it, reaching a point, where – no matter how good you are – nobody ever will find it easy. Even the top best statics who have already cleared Ultimate several times still struggle with it up do this day and wipe a few times on every attempt to clear it again, even though they’re already released for over a year and their first clear was 2-3 weeks after it got released.1) the majority which can’t complete this or that challenge: they whine about it being too hard and justify using tools and activities which make it easier (sometimes including banable tools);
Nobody (except for maybe a handful of entitled individuals) is crying about Ultimate being too hard. It was said from the start by Square Enix, that almost no one will be able to clear it and that this is the purpose, which is why the absolute majority of the community accepted Ultimate being unclearable for them. Instead they cheer for the people that are able to clear it and admire them, trying to become as good as them.
It is the ultimate (no pun intended) proof of an amazing FFXIV player to have the title “The Legend” or “The ultimate Legend” and everyone agrees, that it is a special and unique symbol of accomplishment, which the common casual player is ineligible for.
Heck, even when Square Enix announced during one of the latest live letters, that Ultimates will not be unsyncable (so even if you’re level 80 and have iLvl 450 gear you will get synced down to level 70 and your iLvl to 340 for UCob), the people were extremely happy about it, because that way the challenge would stay a challenge and the titles wouldn’t lose their value.
Some people go as far as calling in sick, hording food, pre finishing challenge logs, leves, alot of sidequests so they can rapid turn in, etc.
That’s what my entire FC of 46 people is doing. Some people in our FC are even preparing their meals and putting it in the fridge in advance, so tomorrow before the servers go live, they can place the food close to them so they don’t even have to stand up for anything, besides going to the bathroom.
but I recently switched to farming crystals from ephemeral nodes with 3/8 rotation (all in the grid/scenario forum). I’ve been making 8m a day or so from that.
Pretty much this. 2 weeks ago I went from server to server, bought a crapton of crystals, shards and clusters for 3 million gil. Yesterday I’ve put about 1/8th of the Shards/Clusters I’ve bought on the MB and even though only 2 retainers sold half their inventory I’ve made my 3 million back again and when ShB drops I imagine making several millions as well.
Oldbie players say that HW -> SB border did look like this too, but as soon as SB was out, SE added to old quests from 3.3 content (Causes and Costs & The Man Within) coffers with full sets of ilvl240 eq. Now I wonder: maybe it would be better idea to quest up as far as 4.2 and stop there? Following this pattern, they should add coffers with some nice stuff (ilvl340? maybe even 360?) to 4.3 quests (Gosetsu and Tsuyu+), for us to receive for free?
Yes, they’re propably adding i360 gear to some MSQuests of 4.X, but I don’t see the point.
A botter at the end of the expansion can easily craft 1 set of (currently Rakshasa) gear (tbh the weapon and one armor would already be sufficient) and be good to instantly do content of the next expansion (where he automatically get new gear).Also, if you had to do all quests from 4.1 up to 4.5 you’d be wasting a huge amount of time, you could already be unlocking all Shadowbringers areas to farm stuff there and make enormous profits. There will be so many opportunities to make gil. Just to list the first that come to my mind you’re missing out by not being in Shadowbringers right away:
* Selling new crafted items from Shadowbringers zones for completing levequests (they go away EXTREMELY expensive. I remember, that at the start of Stormblood I’ve spent about 30 million gil, just to level up 3 crafters. now multiply that by the people that also level their crafter jobs)
* Selling new gathered materials from Shadowbringers zonesLook at this video the last of the 7 tips this guy is usually a very well informed guy
I repeat: You don’t have to complete either the 24-man raids, nor their storyline (where you’d only be able to complete the first quest anyway, because in order to complete the storyline you have to do the raids as well, since it’s always story>raid>story>raid>story>raid>story for alliance raids).
Square Enix will never force their casual playerbase to complete any raid content. That’s a big no no and it would cause a huge outrage (especially when it’s about forcing players to do old content). All you need to have completed is the 4.5 story questline

Raid content (even if it’s just easy alliance raid content) is never a requirement for story in FFXIV. It might just be additional lore fluss, just like when you have completed the Bahamut raid before Heavensward Alisae had some fluff talk about how she trusts Alphinaud after what happened in the Final Coil of Bahamut or like the Red Mage teacher calls you the hero and savior of Ala Mhigo, if you have completed the 4.0 MSQ before starting the job questline.
The only thing that is required is, that you have completed the Stormblood Storyline until there are no MSQuests anymore.
Arc: I hope your question is answered by johnb;
Well, not completely, because I only have 482 CP and not 493 as base. Tools are the only thing I was too lazy to meld for every job.
but if not (i.e. Alchemy is not your speciality)
My specialities are Blacksmith, Goldsmith and Alchemist, so yes, it is.
then gimme your approx stats (without 1-2 last digits or so), and I’ll see what could be done
You can have the full stats as well, since it won’t matter anymore in 3 days, when my stats are gonna change again, anyways. 1710 Craft, 1759 Control, 482 CP without food and drink. Like I said, Miqo always solved pots 100% HQ for me, but I absolutely agree, that it isn’t the optimal solution in terms of speed and I wanna know, what would’ve been possible with these stats for 100% HQ on these Infusions.

EDIT: By the way @gray:
Maybe I’m using the crafting calculator wrong, but so far I was absolutely not able to find a 100% safe macro for crafting Grade 3 Infusions out of 100% NQ materials with just 100% safe skills. Did you find one? They’re the only 4 Star Recipes, that have massively increased requirements (Needing 3728 progress and not 2485 and 29591 quality and not 21137) and even with my high stats (1710 Craft, 1808 Control and 540 CP buffed).
Did you find one? Maybe my settings are wrong. (Usually I use Miqo for that, since with me she never fails even at full NQ)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Something must either be broken with your Miqobot, or you have a severe lack of CP, because in your rotation Miqo uses 2x Observe back to back twice, which indicates, that Miqo couldn’t find a solution with the amount of CP it has in total / the skills that it has access to and was hoping for a “Good” or “Excellent” proc.
Always keep in mind: CP is EVERYTHING. You want at least somewhere around 480+ CP without food. With food and craftsman tea, somewhere in the 540+ CP range. Even Gray, who has pretty shitty stats for a fully geared endgame crafter (somewhere in the 15XX range without food – I have stats somewhere in the 17XX’s) still has over 480 CP without food (If I recall correctly he has even more CP than me because I didn’t meld any crafter tools at all yet and I’m missing like 10 or so CP) and he can solve EVERYTHING with 100% rotations via Lokyst’s solver
I have no clue on what kind of cocaine your Miqobot is, but mine just threw a HQ Grade III Infusion of Strength out of 100% NQ mats against my head with this rotation after 3 mins of calculation:
This is what actually takes the first week. Crafting solver will work after that as well, because even if SE removed certain crafting skills, Miqo wouldn’t try to use them anyway, since they wouldn’t be on your hotbar anyway (or at least you should remove them). New skills fall under the 3-6 months stuff though.
