Yes, Minion Square Minigames are currently the best known method for MGP farming.

However we aim to provide as many features as possible. We are working on improvements for Chocobo Racing waypoints editor and implementing Triple Triad as well.

In the meantime, if you create your own version of R-300 waypoints and would like to share with the community, I will gladly add them to the index šŸ™‚

This may be an enhancement request, however after playing around with the crafting solver, I find myself often very confused how useful clicking each additional option. ā€œIs the extra 30secs worth clicking this option?ā€

I would love for there to be a visual bar guide indicating if I use x,y,z settings then I have an estimated % chance of progress/quality and how many steps it would take.

Additionally, if I add settings a,b,c (in addition to x,y,z), then I can get an even better % chance of progress/quality at the cost of 10 more steps.

Right now, it feels like Iā€™m just shooting in the dark and hoping for the best.

Short answer: No, there are no options worth 30 seconds of CPU time. Crafting Solver is already optimized for 60-star crafting as much as possible.
Please aim for the lowest computation time possible.

Long answer: If you take a look at the reference table we provided in the first post, you can see that all CPU Intensive skills are also the least valuable ones. Each option alters your average output quality only by 3-4% while a single Hasty Touch fail drops it by more than 10%. RNG is the biggest factor here, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

If we were to visualize this in the form of bar indicator, it would look as follows:

    - No options: -------------------- 100%
    - Innovation: --------------------- 103%
    - Manipulation: --------------------- 101%
    - Waste Not I: --------------------- 102%
    - Waste Not II: --------------------- 101%
    - Whistle: --------------------- 101%
    - Progress first: ------------------- 97%
    - BB only 100%: ------------------- 99%
    - PbP only 100%: ------------------- 98%
    - Ignore quality: - 0%
    - Reclaim: unaffected
    - 1x HT Fail: ----------------- 88%
    - 2x HT Fail: --------------- 75%

    Recommended settings for 60-star are:

    • CP Chunks – 2:1 or 4:1.
    • All CPU Intensive – disabled.
You can enable Innovation for a slight increase in final output, but that’s it.
These options provide a good boost for low level characters, but at 60 level they can be neglected.
    • Progress First – enabled. A huge computational boost for only 3.6% loss of quality.
    • BB only 100% – enabled. Prevents bad RNG affecting your craft.
    • PbP only 100% – enabled. Prevents bad RNG affecting your craft.
    • Ignore Quality – disabled. Only for crafting furniture or emulating Quick Synthesis.
    • Reclaim if HQ < ..% - depends on your preference.
    • Reclaim if Q < .... - disabled. Only for collectables with specific requirements.

This setup should bring computation time down to around 10 seconds.

I donā€™t understand how to use rotation for gathering 60.
Can you explain me please the way to do it ?
My character only gather normal item using the new rotation skills .
I type Adamant in gather name, select the slot & type 4 in counter & use 470+ Collectability.
    Maybe i do something wrong.

( sorry for my awful english ā€¦ )

Thanks billoute & ramen for your explanation šŸ™‚

As @billoute and @ramen said correctly, you should include item name in {} curly braces and verify that you have enough GP for the rotation.
    – Miqobot will apply a rotation to an item without braces only if there’s no other {item} in braces blocking it.
    – Miqobot will say a message in the Output Area if there’s not enough GP for the current rotation.

However, this is not the first time we receive reports about Gather by Name not working properly, but due to insufficient information provided we can not confirm whether the issue exists.
Did advices from @billoute and @ramen help you?
Does Gather by Name work correctly now?

    1. First time this ever has happened to me, thatā€™s why it caught me off guard. Only occurred in this beta.
    2. Hovering near a ephemeral node in Churning Mists (updating my gathering rotation steps). I had created some new rotations (using textpad to copy an existing presets and renaming the title). The actual rotation changes I made using Miqobot.
    3. I have not been able to reproduce this same error. Iā€™ve created 4-5 more gathering presets this way with no other issue.
    4. Both FFXIV client and Miqobot crashed. Iā€™ve never seen the Miqobot Radar window before (in the screenshot).
    5. No problems with either Miqobot or FFXIV client after restart.

    Hope that helps!

    Thank you very much!

Miqoradar is just a separate process of Miqobot that draws an overlay window on top of your game. It is usually hidden to avoid bothering you with additional icons on your taskbar. However if you open processes list in Task Manager, you will see miqoradar.exe running alongside miqobot.exe. It is intended to be this way and there’s nothing wrong with it.

After detailed investigation we assume that the crash occured due to an error in video driver.

Unfortunately there is too little information to reproduce it, therefore we are not able to diagnose it. We don’t see anything wrong in your actions that could cause this issue, so most likely there are other factors involved.
If you encounter it again, please let us know!

There is one bonus feature available in Beta version that we haven’t mentioned yet – Favors.
The first post has been updated šŸ™‚

Favor items are added to the Index of Gathering Grids.

Also, we have prepared two navigation grids with Concealed nodes support, so you can try this feature right away.
Red Ooids and Wyvern’s Warts are exchanged for Purified Coke.

Ran into a crash while updating a gathering rotation. After hitting save, the game crashed (attached screenshot).

    Thank you for reporting!

We couldn’t reproduce this crash in our labs.
Would you please give us more information about it?

    1. Do you encounter this issue regularly with a new Beta version? Or did it happen only once?
    2. What exactly were you doing in the game when a crash occured?
    3. Was Miqobot running at that moment, i.e. did you attempt to modify rotation on the fly?
    4. Can you reproduce this issue by repeating the same actions?
    5. Was there any information lost in Miqobot? Or was it only the game that was affected?
    6. When you restarted the game, did it run as usual or were there any other problems accompanying the crash?

    Thank you very much!

Hi, just to say itā€™s nice to see how far the crafting solver has come. Itā€™s really an impressive piece of work and i canā€™t wait to put my hands on the next stable release.
Iā€™m trying this new beta now and still wait to see any serious issues.

    Keep up the good work.

Thank you for your kind feedback very much!

    There they are šŸ™‚
    I hope so.

Thank you for attaching your crafting logs šŸ™‚

We have reproduced your crafting environment and analyzed the multidimensional solution map of the moment you were talking about.
The reason why Miqobot hadn’t used Comfort Zone before Step 26 is because she was expecting a Good condition. If Miqobot would choose to pop Comfort Zone before Steady Hand II, this would result in the following finisher being the optimal route:

Step 25. Recommended skill: (Comfort Zone)
Step 26. Recommended skill: (Steady Hand II)
Step 27. Recommended skill: (Precise Touch)
Step 28. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 29. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 30. Recommended skill: (Advanced Touch)
Step 31. Recommended skill: (Steady Hand II)
Step 32. Recommended skill: (Great Strides)
Step 33. Recommended skill: (Byregot's Blessing)
Step 34. Recommended skill: (Careful Synthesis II)

Since there are only 9 steps after Comfort Zone, it would not wear off in time and would result in wasted CP.
However, as soon as there was a Normal condition after Steady Hand II, the following finisher became optimal:

Step 25. Recommended skill: (Steady Hand II)
Step 26. Recommended skill: (Comfort Zone)
Step 27. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 28. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 29. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 30. Recommended skill: (Hasty Touch)
Step 31. Recommended skill: (Master's Mend)
    Step 32. Recommended skill: (Innovation)
Step 33. Recommended skill: (Steady Hand II)
Step 34. Recommended skill: (Basic Touch)
Step 35. Recommended skill: (Innovative Touch)
Step 36. Recommended skill: (Innovative Touch)
Step 37. Recommended skill: (Great Strides)
Step 38. Recommended skill: (Steady Hand II)
Step 39. Recommended skill: (Byregot's Blessing)
Step 40. Recommended skill: (Careful Synthesis II)

In this case, there are 14 steps after Comfort Zone, so no CP would go to waste.

Also, according to your logs, this was a rather unfortunate combination of RNG events. Out of 6 non-100% Touch steps, 2 failed, and in addition there was a failed Piece by Piece in the beginning.
This may not be too catastrophic when creating intermediate materials, but when crafting the final piece of equipment we recommend enabling both of these options:

    • BB only 100%
    • PbP only 100%

Please archive your crafting logs into Zip or Rar, and you will be able to attach them šŸ™‚

In general, it is not always a good choice to refresh Comfort Zone immediately after it wears off.
For example, if you have about 18 steps left, you will be able to perform only one Comfort Zone cycle anyway. There’s absolutely no difference whether to reapply it now or several steps later. And if you are under the effect of Waste Not, it is best to finish it first or it would go to waste.

Alternatively, on some occasions you may encounter a few Goods which will give you CP back and increase the amount of expected steps. So maybe Miqobot was expecting to finish craft in 8 steps, but then RNG turned the tide and there appeared a longer path instead.

But please archive and attach your crafting logs, we would like to check whether this is a potential miscalculation bug.
    Thank you very much!

Gathering works perfect ā€“ Iā€™ve reached my 450 red scripts gap in no time!!!

As something to add ā€“ Iā€™ve just had an idea for farming counterfoils:

ā€“ if Gathering attemps +1 [on] then do rotation ā€œXā€ if not rotation ā€œYā€ ā€“ where X would be a rotation for counterfoils (>530) & Y normal Red Scripts gathering (>470).

Thereā€™s one specific node for Eventide Jade ā€“ maybe this could be done though the grid??

    Accepted šŸ™‚

We will probably be able to implement this as an extra conditional skill, just like ‘If DE Procs’.
Seems like it can be also used for skipping a rotation when there are only 4 attempts in the node, in order to save GP for nodes with 5 and 6 attempts.

Thank you for the request very much!

    Gathering Rotations:
This feature works well and I was able to quickly do my red scrips for the week. Iā€™d highly recommend a good resting place (beacon), so that you donā€™t look very obvious. One confusing aspect was once I selected a gathering ā€œMacroā€, I was unsure how to go back to normal mode. I went with a blank gathering ā€œRotationā€. This seems to work, but wasnā€™t intuitively obvious.

Yes, this is the intended way of resetting Gathering to normal mode – simply by selecting ‘Macro’ and then selecting ‘Rotation’ again.
it is indeed not very obvious so we are going to mention this in the Gathering Guide.

Thank you for the feedback very much!

I donā€™t see a way to open a node close it and fly to the next set. Thanks to Gathering by Name she wonā€™t spend gp on stuff but you loose a lot of time by doing this.
So a way to just open and close a node would be perfect.

Yes, there is indeed no easy option to skip a node at the moment.
And you are correct, this will be made available in Scenario Engine šŸ™‚

    Desynthesis

Is it possible to detect what crafter need to desynth an item? You could for example detect the phrase ā€œDesynthesizable: Yes /culinarianā€.
That way you can simply say desynth everything for CUL and miqo would start on all fishes.

Else as usual this feature works perfectly fine for me.

So to complete this: You guys are the best and I love you <33

Indeed, we were considering using Desynthesizable property of an item for easy setup.

But though it may not seem so, implementing Desynthesis this way is a lot harder due to a much more intricate memory layout. This feature is still under research and will take more time. As soon as we find a proper solution, it will be added as additional setting šŸ™‚

Thank you for your feedback very much!

First of all nice Update. You did some really good work. šŸ™‚

As always a review from me:

    Crafting Solver

This thing works which is amazing. 10 out of 12 crafts went HQ (RNG sucks sometimes) and the time to process the craft isnā€™t long so great job there.

Some things that I want to put in focus:

    -Flawless Synthesis
Miqo somehow recommend this skill after all stacks are gone and after she pressed Inner Quiet so thatā€™s a bit strange^^.

    -Piece by Piece
Normally you would cover this with Steady Hand I so it canā€™t go poof but Miqo just do another one if one went to heaven. I donā€™t know if Iā€™m wrong there and itā€™s actually cheaper to do it this way but i still want to point it out.

    -Careful Synthesis II
I loved the feature that Miqo did this in the end to get some more luck with Byregotā€™s going on a good but if you uncheck progress first itā€™s like 9 min to solve the craft. Itā€™s not a real issue but as previous just want to point it out so you guys get some feedback for you masterpiece you created.

    Crafting Solver:
Only attempted this with my weekly red scrips, however it seems to work just fine. Iā€™m used to a (MM, CZ, SH 1, PbP, PbP, FS til end) starter, but currently Miqobot recommends (MM, FS til end, rest). I found this to be a bit odd, but Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s part of the ā€œAI Settingsā€, which I donā€™t know how to use. Any additional tips on how to play with the settings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for a great beta release. Canā€™t wait to see the final version!

Let’s take a 60** recipe as example (1436 Progress, 9430 Quality), and we’ll try to explain the logics behind Miqobot’s actions.

    • Comfort Zone

First of all, Maker’s Mark gives you 15 free steps for only 20 CP. This means 15 opportunities to encounter a Good condition and restore CP completely with Tricks of the Trade.
If you pop Comfort Zone immediately after Maker’s Mark and get a Good condition later, your CP will overflow. Which means you’ve effectively wasted one free step of Flawless Synthesis. Miqobot waits until about 9 stacks of Maker’s Mark are left before using Comfort Zone. In case by this moment CP is already restored she won’t waste Flawless Synthesis steps at all.

    • Inner Quiet

Now consider a case when your CP has been restored early in the Maker’s Mark phase, and there are about 7 free steps left. There is a 52% chance to encounter another Good condition within 7 steps (1 – 0.97). Since Inner Quiet will be used anyway, why not do it now and get a 52% chance to have it at no cost.
Probably that’s why you’ve noticed that Miqobot was using Flawless Synthesis after she pressed Inner Quiet.

However if you say that there were no Maker’s Mark stacks left, this is a bug.
Could you please confirm that this indeed happened after all stacks were gone?

Please check the ‘Enable Logs’ option and try to reproduce this issue on some cheap 60** recipe.
For example, Sewing Thread or High Mythrite Nugget are well suited for testing purposes.

    • Piece by Piece

Indeed, Piece by Piece is very useful in the beginning of Maker’s Mark phase. But it comes at a price of 15 CP and a sacrifice of one Flawless Synthesis step.
Rapid Synthesis, on the other hand, costs no CP at all and may be used at any moment, so it doesn’t require a sacrifice.
In addition, RS efficiency grows along with your Craftsmanship stat.

So basically, at each step Miqobot compares Piece by Piece vs Rapid Synthesis according to a rather complex formula. As soon as RS wins, PbP will not be used anymore.
Depending on your Craftsmanship value and Recipe level, you may see 2, 1, or 0 Piece by Piece actions in the beginning of Maker’s Mark phase.

    • Steady Hand

In order to answer the question whether PbP should be buffed by Steady Hand or not, Miqobot calculates the average Quality outcome in both cases.
While the actual numbers may vary, in general it’s usually like this:

    – If Steady Hand is used before PbP, it results in a loss of ~300 quality in the end.
    – If Pbp is not buffed and failed, it results in a loss of ~1000 quality in the end. Since failing happens at 10% rate, it results in losing ~100 quality on average.

Since 100 is less than 300, using an unbuffed PbP is more optimal.

And even after PbP fails 4 times in a row, the formula for the 5th decision remains the same, because fail is still only 10%. Miqobot does not depend on emotions, so however bad RNG behaves at the moment she keeps following the math no matter what.

However, we understand that for a human player it would be more satisfying to sacrifice this ~300 Quality at start and never see a failed PbP again. Therefore we have implemented a special option for this.
When PbP only 100% is enabled, Miqobot will consider PbP a skill with 0% success rate when no Steady Hand is active. It will force her to always apply SH before PbP.

BB only 100% works essentially the same way.
By using this option you ask Miqobot to always buff Byregot’s Blessing, and thus prevent a bad RNG ruining 11 stacks of Inner Quiet.

Please note, even though we can give an analytical explanation for specific decisions taken by Miqobot, the actual reason behind her actions is that she considers all possible outcomes and evaluates all conditions and ability rates, and thus follows the most optimal route to maximize the Quality outcome.
That’s why in practice you may notice a slight deviation from the described course. For example, depending on the amount of potential CP overflow, you may see Comfort Zone being popped much later in Maker’s Mark phase or not at all.

    • Progress First

As you might have noticed, this option significantly reduces the time required to solve a high-level recipe.
What this does is breaking the Crafting Solver into two separate ones. One for Progress, one for Quality.

Yes, in this case you lose the ability to bait Good conditions with Careful Synthesis II. But remember that Good rate on level 60 and above is reduced to 10%, so successful baiting will happen only once out of 10 crafting attempts.

When using this optimization, Miqobot predicts an average HQ rate to drop only by 3.6%.

    -runs to download- Ā”Thanks!

    Please enjoy šŸ™‚

Big thanks to your team getting this beta ready! Itā€™s been a long wait, but the features look amazing. Canā€™t wait to test it out!

Also, while youā€™ve provided the minimum GP/CP requirements, is there any chance you can give us the recommended Gathering/Perception and Crafting/Control recommendations as well?

Miqobot is capable of crafting with minimal stat requirements, i.e. the ones written in the Crafting Log.

According to our research, CP is the most valuable attribute.
At level 60, +10 CP equals roughly +18.5 Control or +23.6 Craftsmanship.
That’s why we recommend melding as much CP as possible, but if you have extra materia for Control and Craftsmanship they will definitely be useful as well.

As for Gathering and Perception, it depends on whether you want to farm Legendary nodes or not.
For 60** items, you need 720 Gathering and 740 Perception.
For Ephemeral nodes and Red Scrips, HQ white gear should be more than enough.

Also would love to hear peopleā€™s result using the crafting tool using Rathā€™s old recommended stats:

    Lv60ā˜…ā˜…ā˜… (Ironworks) 870 Craftsmanship 835 Control 437 CP

Looks like I have some re-materiaā€™ing to look forward to ;D

These stats may also work, but with 437 CP the average HQ rate will be around 70% (if crafted with all NQ mats). You might want to consider using Reclaim in order to get several attempts to fight RNG.
