This is an interesting idea and I hope I’m forgiven if I ask about an additional tool that I thought might be useful.

Does anyone know of a tool or program or whatnot that can pull the FFXIV chat into a separate window? I often need to keep FFXIV minimized while using Miqo to keep from breaking scenarios and a way to keep chat/emotes visible while still keeping the game minimized would allow me to keep an eye out for things like people talking to me in linkshell or FC chat, or just plain old /say or /shout.

My gut says ACT does something like this already but I don’t really know how it works.

I imagine if we could find something like that and ideally have a way to set an alarm noise if someone says our character name or certain keywords we could set ourselves then running Miqo would be even safer than it already is.

Not that I’ve ever even received any notice or accusations that I know of, as long as you’re not too ridiculous with bot usage no one seems to notice in this game, thankfully. But better safe than sorry.

Kyler you download the file, then click Share on miqo, click Import, then find the file in the window that opens and select it. That will load the grid into miqo.

On miner this grid works wonders for me, but on Botanist it seems to break almost constantly! Mostly on spots where you need to be standing on the roots of the giant trees to hit the nodes, like 646 or 689, seen here:

    nodes 646 and 689

What happens is miqo fails to get to a spot it can hit these nodes and then blacklists them. After that miqo stands there searching for a node nearby but the compass only points her to the blacklisted node forever and eventually I either notice it broke or get disconnected from diadem for inactivity.

I know without manually adding beacons I can’t fix the blacklist compass loop, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to make nodes like these work consistently? I’ve tried different sized mounts and I’ve tried moving the nodes around a little to see if I can fix the issue myself, but I don’t know any other way to make them work more consistently.

Hey ive been testing this and i seem to get stuck when miqo decides to boom a mob behind a tree trunk and she triggers killswitch when not being able to get there

    Whicht waypoint this happen?

Obviously I’m not the guy you asked but I ran into this exact issue at node 105. There was a Coblyn on the other side of a gigantic fallen treetrunk that was closer to me than other mobs so it tried to target him and triggered the kill switch eventually.

Here is the log from it.

(6:32:05 AM) Going from 103 to 105 in 3 trips.
    (6:32:09 AM) 2 trips more..
    (6:32:11 AM) 1 trip more..
    (6:32:11 AM) Destination reached!
(6:32:11 AM) Boom this: 'Diadem Coblyn'
(6:32:48 AM) Oh noes, I couldn't reach the destination in time. I guess I'm stuck here. :(
    (6:32:48 AM) Time/Estimate: 36.7005/36.6901
(6:32:48 AM) Poking creatures in the woods... Good night! <3
(6:32:48 AM) (NOTE) Kill switch is triggered.

I’ve moved the node a few feet closer to the other mobs in the area on my end and I’ll let you know if it happens again!

I believe SE did something to hide them better on later floors.

Not sure why they aren’t just hidden on all floors but there you go. Nothing is messed up on your side as far as I know, that’s just how it is!

I’ve been selling Hardened Sap for about 1000 gil each and Coke for about 500 gil each while leveling a few classes through the trust system, but its pretty minor money for me, 5 gil or 2.5 gil per GC seal sounds like a fine deal if you were to be making 11 million GC seals a week, but most likely due to relatively low demand you’d just crash the economy on every available GC item and spend a ton of time messing with your retainers trying to keep up with the falling prices.

Good call on Sohm Al, I hadn’t really considered that you get double drops in Squadron dungeons versus Trust dungeons, and the individual item/seal ratio isn’t much changed. I just automatically figured higher level dungeons would be better!

I do have quite a Cordial addiction though so I have bought up like 5 stacks of those using GC seals!

If you’re after purely Grand Company seals then its hard to beat the new Trust implementation.

Running Holminster Switch and turning in the drops at the quartermaster will earn you about 20k GC seals an hour iirc, 24 hours a day, 30 days a month we’re talking in the realm of 14 million GC a month. Not quite 6 million a week but its significant.

I’m not sure if there is a higher rate possible, but this route is very safe at least, you spend all your time in trust dungeons so its not obvious you’re botting.

Although of course no one advises you bot 24 hours a day for a solid month, its always best to be at your PC when running Miqo.

Same here, happened today came home from work and miqobot was deleted from my desktop and I can’t re-download it, says it’s a virus. I do not have any after market virus protection that I know of and I have deactivated my firewall to see if it goes through and nothing.

How about windows defender, the built in windows antivirus? Its likely active unless you’ve taken steps to turn it off completely, which is not recommended at all.

Yes, Miqobot is disappearing from my computer, and now won’t even re-download. Failed – Virus detected is the error I’m getting. Has something happened to Miqo that this is happening? O-O

Sometimes anti-virus software falsely identifies Miqo as a virus. Its been happening to different people since the beginning! You’ll either need to disable the antivirus or make it carve an exception for Miqo. For obvious reasons the second option is much more recommended.

Going to ask here instead of starting a thread to ask, is there a way to change the default Miqobot avatar? I’m not talking about the desktop icon, but the character picture inside the program.

Yes! Click the + sign on the right side to open the Advanced Settings window, under the Other tab you can change the avatar to one of three choices.

    Thanks !

And is it possible to uses assist mode only for the dps part and not the healing one, as a Scholar?Could be nice on the learning to first learn how to do the healing without trying to dps but actually being dpsing with assist mode, and turn on manually later.

Its possible to be set up but I might suggest not using it that way. If you turn off the ability to use heals and buffs most likely your miqo will try to dps at all times and you’d be fighting for control any time you wanted to cast a heal, which could cost you GCDs or precious seconds in life or death situations. I don’t heal any serious content with miqo assist myself so I can’t speak with authority about it, but that is my gut feeling.

It depends on the class, but mostly assist mode isn’t going to outperform a dedicated human who knows their stuff. That being said I’ve tried it on a few Eden Savage fights and usually pull consistent good dps with it, nothing to be ashamed of and often highest in my party.

What assist mode really shines at is letting you focus on the mechanics of a fight while performing serviceable DPS, which can vastly increase the speed at which you become proficient at the specific fight, once you’re comfortable you could potentially swap back to manually dpsing and pull slightly higher numbers.

For a healer in raid content though Assist mode might not be a great idea, from what I understand Assist mode isn’t really looking forward to upcoming tankbusters or raidwide damage attacks, and might put things on cooldown you’d wish you had available.

On most dps classes it can be really convenient though! I highly recommend BRD/DNC/MCH with it!
