I recommend gathering the early skysteel tool items. Yes the items you gather are essentially useless but the nodes often have huge +HQ bonuses, and, as a plus, there’s already made grids for all of them.

I don’t have a scenario for it, but I can say it is not possible to always get 100% collectability on those expert crafts. Miqo does quite well I think, especially since time is less of a concern. I’d estimate Miqo fails to reach minimum collectability 10~15% of the time, and maxes out 40~50% of the time. It just depends in a big part by your rapid synth luck.
I just finished up all 8 resplendent tools. Miqobot worked really well I found, arguably just as good as a player manually crafting. You gotta keep in mind that the final step is both the hardest craft in the game and you need extremely high final quality to reach even the minimum tier to turn in. So even if you do it manually, you’d probably fail to reach the final tier half the time anyways.
I always started with 150 of the yellow scrip mats, and that was enough for 7 of the tools (my 8th tool required 165 mats to finish but with so much RNG I was surprised that I only needed to farm more for one tool).
If they’re so inclined, they can maintain the current difficulty of unsyncing content by just making level differences have a huge impact on damage done/taken (in fact, I bet that is what they’ll do because it is the easiest way to keep unsynced content easy). We might go from (say) 120k hp to 20k hp in 6.0 but it doesn’t matter if level 61 monsters do 10% damage to us because of the level difference.
I don’t know if that’s what SE is going to do but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was their solution, since Yoship explicitly said he was conscious of people liking being able to unsync old content.
