Ah, cool Arc. I had just put it in like 2hrs before that post so I’m still very new with it but it worked well for both Suz EX and O10S. I had a little trouble setting it up, which in the end was that I hadn’t unblocked before unzip but that was it. The instructions did say to use 64bit ACT, I didn’t feel like uninstalling/reinstalling and maybe screwing it up so I’m still using 32 for now, seems ok. Back when I installed ACT there was some reason I chose to use 32bit over 64…I don’t remember what it was but 64 had some disadvantage iirc.
For raiding with assist mode, I know the idea of making specific rotations etc has been discussed already but beyond just making a rotation for your class I wonder if you guys have considered using data from or integrating with “Cactbot”, the ACT plugin. I /just/ discovered it but it’s been around for a year now I guess and has been updated to include timelines for every action every boss uses, useful for dps windows, shielding, tank cooldowns etc. It does have other features as well, like eureka stuff.
Anyway, just a thought.
First; you definitely want to do your class quests, tons of xp, abilities, and there’s no cost. Yay no more HW bullshit…
Second, make sure the skills on your bars are the skills for your current job. If you only put your crafting skills on bars that swap with your job, then you won’t repeat this issue later.
I’ve seen scenarios that use randomNearby and randomWaypoint, I don’t know about random time but you can set each chapter to use a different time after teleporting. I’d use the above tools over a random time anyway…time is too important for recovering GP and getting nodes. If you are REALLY worried, you could create dozens of chapters that span several days of ingame time ie, chapter 7 starts at 07 and chapter 14 starts gathering at 0708…chapter 21 starts at 0702…stuff like that.
But I do think you are too worried about getting caught. If you follow pretty simple logic, like not running 24×7, modifying grids, testing them before afk’n with them, you’ll be fine. I and other’s here have been using this thing since it came out and I, for one, have never even been questioned by a player, let alone a GM.
It has a few quirks that make it look botty, but only if you have the overlay on that makes it obvious to you why that behavior is happening. To an outsider, it looks like lag, a slipped finger, or just inattentiveness. For me, these things nag at me more for their inefficiency than getting caught. Since I usually just run it while I’m in the room…I want that time to be as efficient as I am while playing…it isn’t there yet but I think it’ll get there in time.
Likely, you don’t have keybinds set up properly, the bot should detect and use any skills you have available on your bars but if it can’t swap bars or use a keybind, then it’ll do weird stuff like that.
You’ll wanna have 3 hotbars with keybinds that switch when you change jobs, this will be enough space for combat and crafting. Keybinding them as Bar 1: “1” – “=”, Bar 2: CTRL + “1” – “=”, and Bar 3: Shift + “1” – “=”, is pretty standard.
Then put all of your crafting abilities on the bars, put them on even if you can’t use them yet. Saves time in the long run and gets you familiar with them. I also recommend this for combat classes.
Make sure you pay attention to the cross-class skills as well. Awhile back they were rated for their usefulness, find and read that then slot accordingly.
Lunchbox, your question isn’t very clear. Ignore quality is meant to do just that, it should only spam progress actions. It also will use Tricks of the Trade and Manipulation II if they’re available but shouldn’t use any Touch actions. If you’re wanting HQ items, just disable this and make sure you have put the abilities you want to be used on your bars.
Anyway…hope this helped, otherwise, restate your question more clearly.
I don’t know anything about the MB thing but, likely, bots are collecting snapshots of item purchase histories and items currently for sale on the MB. To do this on every server, it’s no simple task, so probably not something Miqo will look to replace anytime soon (if ever).
As for accessing inventories, it can be done by looking through the files in your character data folder.
As for the recipes, yeah, they are simple. Storing that information client side could be beneficial but I think developing the database should be a thing. Simply using the crafting log won’t do as you don’t initially have all the recipes. Would be good if the bot could tell you what you’re missing, ingredients and books wise.
I can’t say how feasible any of it is but this does sound like it could be a useful service.
I don’t think it needs to be fully done at our level though. It could just run from their end and let the bot query their servers, which hits the websites as needed (likely through a proxy). This would insulate everyone and allow them to collect the data over time, hopefully leading to their own local database?
It’s a little more complex but leads to a longterm solution as the sites themselves could disappear at any time.
Edit: The bit about “knowing who has the items”…Traveling to NPCs and making purchases would probably be harder to do, but being able to search and retrieve from retainers should be doable and arguably more useful.
