I understand youre disappointed that you cant make a lot of money of it. But this was never the plan.
I hope you don’t speak for Miqo team. There is always the same “plan” for every commercial programming project (Miqobot included): to earn as much rl money as possible.
Yeah its very clear Miqo’s target audience isnt RMTs. Not sure why that’s such a hard concept to grasp.
Because of a goddamn simple reason: I’ve spent a MONTH rl seeking for a decent bot designed for RMT. I’ve checked lots of games (L2, WoW, EVE, OSRS, GW2, TESO, BDO, Tera, LoTRO, AA, Karos, PW, Aion, Warframe, NWN, PoE and so on – I just don’t recall everything atm), and there always the same pattern: either game currency is not worth anything, or there is no decent bot to farm it (crappy fishing bots which make 10 cents per hour are not considered “decent”). Now, in case Miqo won’t suit either, then I don’t know how the heck ppl find bots to earn money nowadays…
Oh, and besides: don’t worry, it does not matter how many players do RMT – it won’t affect “legit” botters anyway. Either bot is discoverable, and then GMs ban you in either case (RMT or no), like it was 22.05.2008, when Blizzard ONCE found a way to discover Glider and banned lots and LOTS of accounts in a blink, including my raid account, which never traded gold for real… or it’s impossible to find out if account is botting or played manually, and then you are safe.
therefore on how much one have to lose if they ever get a ban.
I.e. FF14 is more like current WoW rather than like EVE Online… you can afford bans (every professional botter can, actually), just you can’t afford leveling chars manually / using bot, because it’s waste of time and possibilities. Basically, the only sane approach is to buy new account(s) with lvl70 (80) char, once there is a need to replace banned one(s).
And I’m not the one who quoted you the 24 hours record, Arc did, and he implied it was for ARR (the source is pretty easy to find, and it’s relevant to notice no one ever tried it for HW or SB), which from there you can estimate that one would need this multiplied by the number of expansions.
Well, it would not be much of problem for me to waste 24 or even 36 hours to get a new account up to a botable state. Even in WoW we were leveling Death Knights (which start at lvl55) up to botable level of 74 (botable until 2009th, when they destroyed Glider bot) in about 48-49 hours, and it was considered normal. This is why I said that I’ll do the same in FF14. Though, making players go through the whole set of outdated addons is utter idiocy, so yes, that argument is void.
As usual, problem was in definitions. In case you define MSQ as ARR MSQ, then it’s ok to say that MSQ can be completed in 24 hours. Though, you shouldn’t, IMHO. The REAL end of MSQ is at lvl70, i.e. the point where it unlocks ACTUAL (to this moment) content.
You can skip the hell by investing auround 30 Euros,
Will do, most probably. Or rather I’ll invest 100 euros and buy accounts with lvl70 (lvl80 several months after addon is out) chars instead… not sure yet – it depends on profits, and on [in]ability to get 1 -> 70 (80) fast enough using Miqo.
lol we warned you!!
No, you did not, actually… You didn’t warn me that after the main plotline (which ends at [50] “The Ultimate Weapon” quest, right?) come 107 more lvl50 quests, then about 120 quests to [60] “Heavensward” (which ends Heavensward sequence), then (probably) 100+ more quests of Heavensward addons (not sure yet – just started them), then (probably) 100+100 quests of Stormblood and addons, and so on. And there is zero percent probability that I believe that THE WHOLE SET of lvl1-lvl70 MSQ of about 700 quests (plus quite a bit of either sidequests or exping in dungeons) can be completed in 24 hours 🙂
neither Miqo nor FXIV is quite well fittet for botting in a commercialy usable sense.
Either you are wrong, or it will be fitted for us some day, or Miqo team just continues to lose profits by not attracting professional botters.
One Thing out of personal interest. How do you breach the 2 Client Thing. I just can start my ffxiv Client 2 times.
Hrmpf… WHAT? Just googled it: there is no such limitation, it’s something related to your comp, probably.
Because since 9 years it never failed, and it is always the same.
Fun 🙂 Then I wonder why didn’t other player create guides like “what to hoard before the new patch” already!
hose crafts that need a couple of min to solve take between 500 MB and a 1 GB in memory, that’s a lot to store on a hard drive for a single craft
You didn’t get it. You don’t have to store the whole tree of possible sequences – you have to store THE BEST sequence (obtained by the previous solver use). I.e. “craft #XXX, craftmaship YYY, CP ZZZ -> ability1, ability2, … ability30”. That’s just some 100 bytes per craft (assuming that each variable is unsigned word, i.e. 2 bytes).
especially when it’s tied to your exact stats and would be voided with the slight change.
You don’t change your stats THAT often in the endgame, do you?
That feature is technically very complex
You are not a programmer, right? Storing an ordered list in a file is technically very easy, as well as loading it back.
for a few Bugs and around 100 Hours of botting you have a beatyful char i think there is no Need to buy an account
1 char is not enough for professional botting, you know. Also, Miqo can’t complete MSQ for you, can it? And there is NO WAY IN THE HELL I’ll go through this nightmare manually EVER again…….
There’s quite a few websites that sell player accounts, and from what I hear it seems to be pretty safe.
Nice to hear that, thank you!
Crafting. As soon as the recipe is solved, Miqobot will be crafting non-stop just the way she does with macro rotations. At the moment, only one recipe solution can be stored in memory.
Hm, weird… why “memory”, while you can actually store it in a file? Say, ordered list, where craft/recipe ID is the key, which also contains craftmanship/CP info (and once these values change, solution is considered outdated, and needs to be renewed). Also it should probably be a common file rather than character/account-related: several chars over several accounts can share alike eq sets and thus stats.
there are times when you can make a ton of gil, but you Need very well leveld and equiped Chars, than there are times.
This is the bad part, actually… As I’ve said before, one wants to eat every day, rather than “there are times”.
how the chinese do it with those crappy Chars … i have no idea ..
Much like in every other MMO with bots: they grind. Grind cheap stuff which does not require skills and gear, but they grind it 12 hours a day.
Crafting is for players, while bots are about grinding… well, unless I learn something new here about botting.
When they reached their max stats through excellent gear set, they bring HQ, they bring more, and they bring stuff in less than an hour, like 40min.
Which, once again, means you take your bot from farming every 40 mins, teleport, resend retainers, return and so on. Also, training retainers is HELL of time and wasted possibilities. I wonder how much (weeks? months?) should retainers work to cover time wasted to train them…
since gathering is fun, easy and fast, anyone will do it, on the other hand, crafting is fun, but long and complicated, it requires too much attention for a too long period of time
You are simply wrong here. Gathering – well, at least gathering of non-unspoiled simple stuff – is boring shit. I personally just can’t stand crap like this (and yes, I’m not quite a patient person), I prefer activities which require brain rather than hands. But even my GF (who is quite patient, but does not really like complicated stuff), whom I ask to train DoL skills for our account, grew tired of gathering already… and that’s just 5 weeks of playing.
If you really want to get a chunk of the biggest part of the money, glamours, you need a deep knowledge of the game at any given time, read third party glamour magazines, understand what is trending, and what will become trending year in advance. I know it sounds funny, but it’s not.
After looking at lvl70 chars equipped in raid-level blues, glamoured into beach bikini stuff (aye, I love male players playing female chars: they always try to go for as much nudity as possible 😉 ), I know it is NOT actually funny. But you are right, I lack the knowledge needed… for now.
But, when you know the game, you know what those mats will be used for in one year to 1.5 year from now (time depends on which Primal).
How do you know something about recipes/requirement from addon which is not out yet?… SE might as well not follow patterns from previous addons, you know.
Just like in the past, mats can be bought right now for 100k-200k, and will worth 2M in 1 to 1.5 years from now.
Or rather worth nothing, depending on if they will be used in the new addon, or not… So you might gain or lose from investments into these mats – you never know FOR SURE (unless, say, you’ve got insider’s knowledge from beta testing).
Hmm… so you’ve got a bot which sits in your house and crafts? Funny… I was assuming that bots are for grinding, hehe.
by the way Gray how is your Project? Does it look promising?
Well, not as promising as EVE Online, of course. Economics in FF14 are soooo dead… No buy orders, no ability to buy part of someone’s order, and the main problem – unbelievably low limit of 40 orders per char. Limits here, limits there – geez, I hate this stuff sooo much… Well I know you can buy ability to hire more retainers, but then again you can do it with credit card only AFAIK (as opposed to buying timecodes at third-party sites), which makes your accounts linked to eachother (via card number)… Basically, I can farm some 5-6 stacks of ore / herbs / lumber per hour, but there is just no way to sell it at any sane price – while, ideally, I should farm for 12 hours a day and sell everything farmed during the offiline time, so I have empty orders to sell tomorrow’s loot! Even with some 4-8 retainers it looks impossible to sell 60 stacks of something daily (unless its shards/crystals, which cost 120-150 gil each at best).
Well, maybe I’m just looking a wrong way, following pattern from other games which do not work here. Or maybe I’m just too low level (50+, all DoL/DoH included), so I haven’t reached REALLY demanded stuff yet. We will see… there is just not enough information to answer “promising” question yet.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but so far it seems that retainers are not really for botters… Miner retainer brings some 5-15 pieces of ore / sand, which is digged to bot in about 1-1.5 min. Now take into account the fact that you have to return to city hourly, and actually resend retainers (whose interface is far from instant). Does it really worth it?
You’re not AFK, you’re playing, and you don’t answer, easy conclusions, the very same test any GM would do, players can do the same, and as stated in this topic, they do it on suspicious Sprouts with no glamour and notorious catchall FC name.
Ok, let’s continue this discussion once I start getting at least SOME tells, hehe…
Miqo has never really been here to be a bot to automate your life away and not ever play the game, it’s been here as a tool to take away boring parts, but still always meant to be supervised
Then it loses a major part of potential buyers: professional botters who can pay for 5-10 bot licences monthly and run some 10-20 accounts round-the-clock, in turns, 12 hours a day each.
This is where we see the difference in knowledge from someone who had a farm of 16 bots vs someone who hadn’t.
And yes, and there were bans on occasion… still, they put me out of business for some 3 weeks (until I recreate and train 16 new accounts), but then again I was able to farm for 2-3 more months 24/7 until the next banwave, having $4-5k monthly, i.e. about $10-11k per 3 months at average. Of course I could have been botting just 12 hours a day fully attended, without bans, talking in channels and so on, but it would have been just $2250 monthly, or $6750 per 3 months.
Well, of course FFXIV is not EVE, and I don’t know (yet) how much does a new account cost (to replace banned one)… but still, it IS possible that you can actually afford bans. After all, Chinese chars with garbage names definitely “think” they can (and should) 😉 Though, it also relies on ability to resist ban spread (i.e. preserve your other characters while one of them gets banned)… and something tells me that Miqo does not have it. It requires SOCKS 5 support, individual paid proxies for each account, intercepting game client attempts to gather hardware information and faking it, paying with timecodes only (so accounts don’t get linked by your credit card), and so on. I doubt Miqo can do it (but maybe… one day… who knows?)
I get that you’re completely new to both FFXIV and Miqobot, but you should trust people playing this game since almost a decade.
You can’t send a tell to someone when they’re in specific instances such as Raid, Trial, Dungeons, PvP, etc.
The sender will get an immediate error telling them their tell has not been sent, the receiver will never see anything.Tell me please, how many new accounts have you started during this decade? Not that much, I bet… unless you’ve got a farm of bots (which I doubt). So how does your “playing since a decade” help with knowing what is possible on trial and what is not?
You should take a moment to sort out your logs display options and colours for LSs, CrossWorld LS, FC, shout, yell, say, emotes and some system messages.
I’m using default colors, and these messages were definitely purple / violet, i.e. tell color. So I don’t object [in]ability to tell to someone in a dungeon, but you definitely can tell to someone on trial (without any chance to receive answer).
Still, my point was simple… I was grinding certain nodes for hours, yet the only tells I was receiving were FC invites. I haven’t receive ANY SINGLE tell since I joined an FC, so……. dunno, maybe it’s server-specific.
Always remember, that in the case of Miqobot, she can only do what a player can do, no more, therefore this side effect will happen with her as well as legit players.
Not quite. Miqobot can see exact coords (I bet it’s just a float variable with way more decimals that just one displayed by client), so it can land exactly at the given spot. But yes, it is solveable even by taking a common grid and randomly changing (slightly) each coord by 0.1 or so (+/-).
