The way I make her get the umbral weather nodes is the botanist is set specific coordinates for the botanist weather nodes and miner is set for miner nodes.

Then, each gather is only 10 (instead of 17/23 in the original) and after each gather(10) I have it go to one of the umbral locations. Then another gather(10) then the other umbral location. Gather(10) and back to the other one.

It’s a bit more moving around and takes a lil more time but it avoids getting stuck. I originally started playing with this in order to avoid the shiny tool island.

    Example for Botanist:

    Chapters 5 and 11:

    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(232,231,299)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(360,356,355)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(232,231,299)
    gather(10)

    Chapters 8 and 14:

    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(360,356,355)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(232,231,299)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(360,356,355)
    gather(10)

You’ll hit the umbral nodes the same number of times. Technically, you could put both wypt locations one after the other but that’s just silly really, you’ll get it eventually as they stay around for awhile.

    Working great for me!

Quick question as I continue to refine my runs:

Do you know which waypoints correspond to which special node? I know 184 is the one Umbral Rock for miners not 100% sure of the others.

    Thanks!

Oh absolutely you are right. It does take a bit more time for sure that could be used gathering but for me, the alternative is getting stuck and stopping gathering altogether so it’s a good trade off.

Problem is, I unlocked the mining and botany shinies before finding out about Miqobot. So I don’t have much choice but it does work well for me since I do have them.

I’ve let it run several times now and at the most, if it does happen to get stuck on Oddly Island, I pick up a few of the Oddly Delicate things and then it moves on. That’s the important part, getting it away from that spot.

Yes you do, no matter what it takes time.

In 1 day, got about 50k

I also changed chapters 5, 8, 11 and 14 to be like this:

    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(578,282,24,184,284)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(578,282,24,184,284)
    gather(10)
    randomWaypoint(578,282,24,184,284)
    gather(10)

That way you only get stuck at the Oddly island for at max 10 times (it will never be 10 based the fact that it starts gathering from one of the random waypoints in the first place and all of those are far enough from Oddly Island that you’ll get a few initially) and then it will switch.

I also have “Oddly Delicate” in the gather by name so if I do go to the island, it will gather them and not just sit there.

No issues at all all night!

One thing I just thought of and tried is to add under “gather by name”, I put in “Oddly Delicate”. It will go mine 1 or 2 of those nodes and then return to mining regular stuff it detects, assuming you DO NOT have “use compass II” checked. Compass II will detect those nodes every time.

My ultimate solution would be for the bot to recognize somehow that it has done nothing for say 1 minute…like no positive response in any way to anything it has tried so then it just hits the Next button and goes to the next thing on the scenario list. That’s all I’ve had to do when I got stuck previously and so far with my current settings, I haven’t gotten stuck yet.

The randomizing definitely helps too that was posted before instead of gather(40).

    Hey all!

New to Miqobot but have figured things out and she’s going strong.

My post is to potentially address the crappy Oddly Delicate Nodes island.

I too was experiencing that issue but after making one change, I have been happily mining all morning with no issues. I really wanted to fix the issue since both my miner and botanist have their shiny weapons. Here is my solution:

Under the gathering tab, in the senses section, uncheck the box for “use compass II” and also make sure the original Lay of the Land (I) is somewhere on one of your hotbars that she can access.

Lay of the Land I seems to miss detecting those Oddly Delicate nodes when it’s used. I’ve been using the scenario with no issue all morning.

Give it a shot, worked for me!
