Have had an issue in the last 5rs where the newest version of the bot was just removed from use. I was actually using it when it closed itself and vanished from my PC, like *poof* magic. If that wasn’t confusing enough, you cant download the new version of the bot without it being flagged as a virus, I know this is the norm but it didn’t happen to me the first time i downloaded it on release. I have permissions for it done in my virus protection and I am now completely confused why this happened and how. I have the previous version still and that works fine.
Anyone have a clue?
If I figure out what happened on my end i’ll update.

Yes, this always happens with every new version release.
False Positive is a bug in antivirus, but since we have no affiliation with antivirus vendors and have no access to their source code we can not help them fix it.
This is why there is a reminder in the main status thread:
A reminder about antiviruses.
Since this is a new version of Miqobot, it may be flagged by your antivirus as False Positive because its signatute is not yet known. As it is stated in our FAQ section, Miqobot is not a virus but antiviruses are usually trained to sic at anything that tries to interact with other programs. Miqobot will make no attempt to fight your antivirus.
Please remember to whitelist your Miqobot application after download. Thank you!
Even if you did not experience this problem before, it doesn’t mean that you never will. Antiviruses are updated often and each update has a chance to introduce a new false positive bug.
We highly recommend to report this behavior to your antivirus vendor.
Starting with 1337 after a few days it will flag as a virus and be disabled. This never happened with 1336. Can it be explained why?

Yea that what happens when your antivirus or smartscreen cant handle 3d radar. It chokes Miqo and forces fps to drop. Try disabling 3d radar.
I can actually confirm that this is a thing, I’m experiencing it for a few weeks as well, just never really bothered me. The window basically lags behind a few seconds when moving. For example, when I move the window around for 5 seconds, it will continue to move by itself for another 5-10 seconds. If it helps, I’m using Bitdefender Total Security as antivirus. But I can ensure you that it’s not a problem so I don’t think you have to look into it too much @miqobot (also since there are no reports yet it doesn’t seem to happen very often)

Thank you for reporting.
Unfortunately, we haven’t managed to reproduce your issue in our labs. Your problem appears to be unique, because there has been no reports of similar nature. We would recommend to verify whether your antivirus is causing interference with Miqobot application, but we don’t have a guaranteed solution.
If you discover additional information that could help the investigation, please let us know.
Miqobot saves your settings and presets in these two files:
- settings.miqo
- presets.miqo
They are generated when you first start Miqobot and are automatically updated when you close Miqobot.
Do you see these files being created and updated next to your Miqobot application?
If not, then something is blocking her from saving your presets.
Please try the following solutions:
- Try running Miqobot as Administrator.
- Try moving Miqobot to a different folder.
- Make sure that Miqobot has full write access to the folder she resides in.
- Make sure that your antivirus and firewall do not interfere with Miqobot.
Of course, this behavior is not normal.
This issue usually indicates one of two things:
- There is a keybind conflict in your game settings.
You can find the detailed explanation of this problem in our Keybinds and Icons Recognition guide.
- Another program is constantly interfering and doesn’t allow Miqobot to control your character properly.
Please verify that your antivirus or firewall doesn’t get in the way and doesn’t freeze Miqobot application.

It’s what we call a false positive, I used “software” like these and even the hardcore ones ever since I was a kid, you have nothing to worry about, it’s not a harmful virus.

I downloaded miqobot_v1.3.36 as I thought it was a new version. Windows tells me it is infected with Wacatac. Given you comments in the development branch, I’m guessing you didn’t put it there.
Just want to add on and say thanks for the crafting solver as well.
Thank you for your kind feedback.
After that I cant restart the bot(maybe because its still running in the background) and cant remove it in task manager.
This issue usually indicates that there is a third-party program blocking Miqobot. It may be not an antivirus, but this behavior is definitely a sign of external interference.

Hey I have a problem with the bot. Whenever I start it, it gets stuck on the part when it’s looking for my catnip license. It will keep loading until it says no response on the top bar so I have to force quit the game. After that I cant restart the bot(maybe because its still running in the background) and cant remove it in task manager. My antivirus doesnt affect it I turned it of and I also tried to restart my pc. Any ideas how to fix it?

I am not using gamepad mode. I am using mouse+keyboard mode, with a left hand keypad that I have the directional buttons mapped to joystick X and Y axes for smooth movement.
Admittedly I have 40 keybinds, first row is numeral keys, second row is function keys, third and fourth rows are ctrl+alt combinations, but they don’t have any GCDs on them so miqo isn’t hitting any of those. There was no issue before 1.3.35, but that’s not necessarily the only thing that changed.
Antivirus is disabled for testing purposes. Doesn’t change symptoms even when enabled.
Another thing I’m noticing that I believe is related is that when FFXIV isn’t focused, say if I am using combat assist in trusts and using my second monitor, I’ll hear stuttered sound from the client as though it’s losing and getting focus several times a second. This stops when I click on the client, then click on an external window.
