    ^^

    A reminder about antiviruses.

Since this is a new version of Miqobot, it may be flagged by your antivirus as False Positive because its signatute is not yet known. As it is stated in our FAQ section, Miqobot is not a virus but antiviruses are usually trained to sic at anything that tries to interact with other programs. Miqobot will make no attempt to fight your antivirus.

Please remember to whitelist your Miqobot application after download. Thank you!

This issue usually indicates that your antivirus or firewall has interfered with Miqobot application.
Miqobot does not contain any algorithms that would close or delete the application without user consent. Therefore it can only be caused by third party interference.

Most likely, your antivirus has downloaded a new update which introduced a new False Positive.
Even if you did not experience this problem before, it doesn’t mean that you never will. Antiviruses are updated often and each update has a chance to introduce a new False Positive bug.

Please whitelist your Miqobot application after download and report this behavior to your antivirus vendor.

Just a quick update. I was able to download it into a folder with permissions granted and unblocked the program, however I am now getting this issue:

(11:57:13 AM) Hello! I am your Miqobot!
(11:57:14 AM) (WARNING) I was corrupted! Please:
(11:57:14 AM) 1. DO NOT RUN two different versions of Miqobot at the same time.
(11:57:14 AM) 2. WHITELIST Miqobot application in your antivirus and firewall.
(11:57:14 AM) 3. RESTART Miqobot after this.
(11:57:19 AM) Connecting to catnip server…
(11:57:19 AM) Emergency! Couldn’t recognize catnip format!
(11:57:19 AM) Server connected! Do you have any catnip license?
(11:57:20 AM) I found the game, but it doesn’t let me connect. Try running me as Administrator. :3
(11:57:20 AM) But wait, I am Administrator already. Let me try something else.
    (11:57:20 AM) Enabling debug privilege…
(11:57:20 AM) Nope, sorry. Still doesn’t work.

I have doubts that this is the cause of the issue.

But did you try adding exceptions to your running anti virus softwares?
    – miqobot_v1.3.45.exe
    – C:\Users\[YOUR-USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp\miqobot\miqoradar.exe (Default on Win10)

I am not playing in 4k resolution, but only with the 4k ui textures. And I don’t even see a bump in overall resources used by Miqo, except the ram usage of maybe a few 100 MB.

I cannot test it, but maybe it has something to do with your 4k resolution. As the overlay probably needs to be rendered with the same one, which is more likely to impact your GPU. Resolution is always a performance killer.

The overlay is part of it. But, it’s also the memory/routine load that Miqo does that might give some people FPS issues. if you are running around 16MB of RAM or less, you’ll see most of the problem. Windows hogs a significant amount. When the memory load gets to a certain threshold, applications will start stalling/stuttering. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of fix to this if it’s a physical RAM issue. But, you can try one thing that might help clear up the RAM a bit:

    – Press Win+R
    – Type “regedit”
    – Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Session Manager > Memory Management
    – Find “ClearPageFileAtShutDown” and change value to 1″
    – Restart

The only downside to this is that restarting your computer will take a bit of time since it is now clearing your page file.
See if this helps besides turning off 3D radar and other Miqo overlays. If this works for you, you will have to remember to restart the computer when memory usage hits around 70-80%.

Also, make sure you whitelist Miqo’s folder if you are using an Anti Virus and especially if you are using Windows Defender. It will constantly scan in the background that will use a lot of resources.

LASTLY, If you are running FFXIV Teamcraft (desktop version) I strongly suggest removing it, especially if you are auto uploading/downloading information to their site and Universalis. This app will run even if you have it closed.

I have doubts that this is the cause of the issue. I have 32GB of RAM. I’m pretty sure the overlay is just poorly optimized. Not even ACT overlays hogs this much.

Of note that this is no longer a recommended tweak for RAM saving/manual management. Only for making sure your sensitive data is gone on restart, if you’re working with such.

    (As of Win8.1 onwards)

which is why Miqo doesn’t bother with that anymore and people are just instructed to whitelist Miqo, as this behaviour is expected.

    This statement is incorrect.
Miqobot Team is doing everything possible to alleviate the issue with antiviruses.

We always inform antivirus vendors about False Positives, and Miqobot project is also subscribed to premium VirusTotal services that send automatic notifications to them.
If you upload Miqobot to VirusTotal, you may notice that our executables are published in the VirusTotal Monitor collection:
    https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/2064947885daaf35a7b77faf3e08601f223903894a49b401a00ab7e423e10bed/

However, we have no affiliation with antivirus vendors and have no access to their source code, therefore we can not help them fix this problem. It’s entirely up to them when and how to address it.

    Yes, this is expected behaviour.

Miqobot uses functions that Anti-Virus softwares find suspicious, and pretty much every game or software use these kinds of functions too, but usually most companies report their programs to the Anti-Virus companies long in advance so they’re not detected as possible threats.
However, AV-companies often take very long to whitelist stuff and it’s often very troublesome, which is why Miqo doesn’t bother with that anymore and people are just instructed to whitelist Miqo, as this behaviour is expected.

    Hey!
My windows did an update during night and this morning I noticed miqobot was removed by windows defender.
When I try to instal it again (from here, not any shady website) windows recodnises it as a virus and when I check the details and make an exeption for it, it litellary says it’s a troijan.
    wtf is going on?

Edit: added a pic as proof, seems forum does not show pictures so it’s just a file.
