Yes, Miqobot is disappearing from my computer, and now won’t even re-download. Failed – Virus detected is the error I’m getting. Has something happened to Miqo that this is happening? O-O
Sometimes anti-virus software falsely identifies Miqo as a virus. Its been happening to different people since the beginning! You’ll either need to disable the antivirus or make it carve an exception for Miqo. For obvious reasons the second option is much more recommended.
March 4, 2020 at 12:17 am #20576March 4, 2020 at 12:58 am #20577Same here, happened today came home from work and miqobot was deleted from my desktop and I can’t re-download it, says it’s a virus. I do not have any after market virus protection that I know of and I have deactivated my firewall to see if it goes through and nothing.
How about windows defender, the built in windows antivirus? Its likely active unless you’ve taken steps to turn it off completely, which is not recommended at all.
March 4, 2020 at 3:44 am #20580Nosing about a bit more as to the why it was showing as a virus and removed, this is what Defender was picking up… Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.D!ml
Devs, you may wanna take a look and see if something’s happened here. I didn’t have any issues with the running of the app until this last patch, and then only recently.

False Positive is a bug in antivirus, but since we have no affiliation with antivirus vendors and have no access to their source code we can not help them fix it.Please read the reminder in the main status thread:
A reminder about antiviruses.
Since this is a new version of Miqobot, it may be flagged by your antivirus as False Positive because its signatute is not yet known. As it is stated in our FAQ section, Miqobot is not a virus but antiviruses are usually trained to sic at anything that tries to interact with other programs. Miqobot will make no attempt to fight your antivirus.
Please remember to whitelist your Miqobot application after download. Thank you!
Even if you did not experience this problem before, it doesn’t mean that you never will. Antiviruses are updated often and each update has a chance to introduce a new false positive bug.
We highly recommend to report this behavior to your antivirus vendor. You can find additional information in these threads:
