For how long have you been using this bot?
I am not sure if I should buy this bot… because of the detection of this bot.
So I am curious and hope some of you will answer.

    Hey Spami,

Could you elaborate on what do you mean by dectection? The bot doesn’t inject code into the game or the term “Hack” the game. It uses button clicks to control a character so it performs just like a real person. The only detection that is possible is if you post something in game chat about using a bot for yourself or if you just allow the bot to run endlessly and another player files a complaint about you possibly botting. So its the safest way to bot in terms of running one but is it 100% safe, well no, no bot program is 100% safe because a bot violates the ToS of MMO games. Hope this answers your question.

Ok let me say it in other words.

Your program has multiple features and it has to read/collect some information about the server. For example, the has to know when to press the button to get the fish. Otherwise it could “press” the button to early or too late.

So the bot is active to the game server. Isn’t it risky then?

That’s a great question, maybe we can get a programmers point of view on this for this particular bot. I don’t have a programming background only have done a bit of research on how they function in general. I’m not fully familiar with how this bot reads script from the server myself I just know I personally haven’t had a issue and haven’t heard of any issues from anyone else from using it. In the mean time this is a good discussion on how most bots function.

    Edit*

I forgot to add this here is a thread for your specific question as well in the help section of the forums.

I’ve used the bot for a month. Not only did i farm a million gold saucer points for that sweet fenrir mount, but i also mined a few thousand shards and ores and used it in palace of the dead. Haven’t been detected or banned and i used it pretty heavily.

As a developer for my own cheats and bots, i can give a 99% guarantee that Miqobot is not detectable by the game in the way that you’re thinking. Yes, it does read certain things from the game as you play (like to know when to collect fish, as your example) however READING from the game’s memory is completely non-obtrusive. The only times it could be detected in this way is if Miqobot was injected (which it isn’t) so you have nothing to worry about. Even the more complex stuff like the palace of the dead radar is using Miqobot’s own database of trap locations, and simply reading memory from the game for things like chests so there’s no way of being detected.

Even if the game were to somehow get an update and magically detect the bot with some kind of anticheat like Warden from WoW for example (which it wont), the developers of Miqobot seem to be experienced enough in reverse engineering to get around it or disable it completely.

on an unrelated note, I’d LOVE to see the source code for miqobot so i could learn how it works, like their custom packing and attaching to the game and whatnot, but there’s no way they’d just hand out something like that lol. a person can dream 😛

TL;DR The only way Miqobot will get detected is if you are blatantly botting in front of people and they report you.

This bot is totally safe to use if you respect a couple of conditions:

    1. Never ever mention the bot in any kind of chat in game, that means even in /tell, do not talk about the bot inside the game. Because that’s how GM can find in your history logs on their servers that you mentioned you’re botting, and it’s enough for them to give you a warning. That’s one of the 2 things they can use against you, they really have only 2 weapons, they cannot use anything else, no screenshots, nothing from outside the game.

    2. Don’t be stupid and don’t set up the bot to farm the same thing for longer than a human could/would do, for example, do not set the bot for playing a Gold Saucer game for more than 4 hours. A good rule of thumb, since you have the scenario feature, make the bot change activities often, like every 2-3 hours. Don’t run it in total for more than 12 hours a day, because their second weapon is to find out you ran the same activity for a super long impossible time, no one can play Out of a limb for too long, don’t give them any clue, anything that could lead them to suspect you, use the bot like a real person with lots of free time would do, no more. That means no more than 8-12 hours/day, and change activity often, and log off for the night.

    3. Do not let the bot unattended, you must be ready to answer a tell. Have it run in the background, turn off music and some other stuff, but let system sound on, you must be able to hear a tell, or a specific LS chat or FC chat.
If someone reported you (it’s super rare and very unlikely if you respect the above advices), a GM can check on you, you must be ready to answer the GM within 5 min.
The bot only required 15 FPS (except for Chocobo racing and Out of a limb), so you can run FFXIV along another game with no performance issue on a modern computer, so run it only when you can answer /tell or other in-game solicitations.

If you respect all this, you won’t have any problem. People have been using safe bots (no hack, no injections) on FFXIV since 2010 with no problem at all for 7 years by using the bots smartly. Square Enix doesn’t care, as long you are discreet, you don’t brag, you don’t mess with players, with the market, with real money or the game. Be smart.
