    hi there! i know for combat, there’s a checkbox to auto-pause when you try to chat!
    is there any setting like that for gathering too? i’ve looked over a few times, and i am either blind and just can’t see it? or that setting is not there?

    is there any way to get it to auto pause if you type in chat? ( while gathering)

    No, there is no such feature for Gathering at the moment.
    It is already planned, but first we have to upgrade the navigation module to be compatible with pause. It will take a few more updates.
