Is it possible to have FFXIV and Miqobot running in the background while I do other things on the PC like watching videos and streams and typing on forums?

Yea you can its on the website: https://miqobot.com/#faq

Can I run the game in background?

    Yes!
You can minimize the game window and do whatever else you want to. Miqobot doesn’t use mouse, only keyboard. And she doesn’t interact with any other windows besides the game itself. And you can even turn that Frame Limiter on to reduce energy consumption. As long as the game has at least 10 FPS, Miqobot will do just fine.

Id suggest to follow this advice and minimize the game. This will allow you not to worry about the mouse issue: https://miqobot.com/forum/forums/topic/miqobot-v1-2-4-patch-notes/#known-issues

Oh and dont forget that some features require 60 fps: https://miqobot.com/forum/forums/topic/miqobot-v1-2-45-patch-notes/

Thank you but I’m a bit confused, doesn’t that mean that if I try to type things using my keyboard in Firefox while FFXIV is in the background, Miqobot will stop working? Or does Miqobot only use the keyboard in FFXIV?

It only uses it in FFXIV.

Yes, it sends the keypresses directly to the FFXIV task, while you are not actively on the ffxiv task (not via injection though, so no worries). The only thing I noticed sometimes is, that if you have a key set to ´ it saves the ´ press and when you type anything outside the game it looks like ´thi´s.
This is something very common on German keyboards by the way, since the key next to the 0 key and the key right next to that one is the ´ key.
