This is something I wanted to ask for a long time, if such a thing is possible without too much trouble on the development side, I would like to have some specific in-game logs getting displayed in a specific tab of the Miqobot logs window.

The reason for this is to be able to minimize the game, so that Miqobot can interact with it without being cramped, while keeping Miqobot on a secondary monitor and keep track of what important is happening in the game, that could requires my immediate intervention.

Because for example, right now, it’s impossible to set the game so you have only sound for messages people write, the audio slider for this includes plenty of other system sounds as well. So you have to chose between no sound, which is not safe when the game is minimized, or all system sounds and you’ll keep hearing Miqobot gathering, crafting, even if you turned off all other audio sliders.

And you also don’t want to go back in the game for every different messages wrote by other players, the huge majority of those don’t require your intervention.

So the idea is to minimize the game, turn off all its sound, and to have Miqobot displaying some relevant in-game logs in its own log window, in a separated tab, so you always have an eye of what important is happening in the game.

Every chat logs, /say /tell /shout (the 2 kinds), all the LS and the FC, and also all the emotes, because very often you’re gathering, and a friend of you just greets you with just an emote, and it’s not good to not respond with something appropriate, it put suspicion on you.

Or you’re gathering, and you have that random player you don’t know, asking you about where you got your mount, and they use /say.

Every important things happen in the logs, and you’re really safe when you can keep an eye on them.

For this to work, Miqobot would need a new UI, or module, as well as some settings :

    • The possibility to increase the size of Miqobot main window, or to maximise it, or to have a separate log window that we can open (just like we can open right now a separate Scenario functions window) and that could take as much space as we have available, in order to display a large amount of log text lines at the same time.
    • The possibility to either take the same colour log settings from the ones we set up in-game, it looks complicated to implement and unnecessary, so the other option is more simply to be able to set up ourself the same colours one by one, with the same choice of colours than the game has.
    • A dark background for this log window, a dark grey, so it remains pleasant to have that open on a secondary monitor without hurting eyes with too much light.
    • An alarm system, so that we can pick our own sound files and link them to a specific log, something simple, the possibility to have a sound for a specific LS, or for emotes, or more importantly for tells. You can of course put by default the same sounds as the in-game ones, but also having the possibility to set up our own is a plus.

In my opinion, this would allow to use Miqobot with a lot of safety.
Very convenient when you work, and also when you’re playing another game.

I’m not sure how hard this could be to implement, but thank you if you chose to do it.

    A very good suggestion!
Not very hard on technical level, but definitely a separate feature pack due to sheer amount of settings entailed.

We shall discuss your request with developers and try to break it down into several stages. If we spread it over several releases, we can probably implement it without delaying new versions too much.

    Thank you for your request!

A thousand thank you for this.

Keeping an eye on what important is happening in the game, through Miqobot window, is the final step of botting safely.
