    Hey there,

just wanted to open up this debate. Most likely the most efficient comp for doing Heroes’ Gauntlet is the same as with regular gameplay, but I still wanted to ask here, what’s your most efficient comp so far, specifically for this dungeon.

Until now I have been running Thancred, Urianger & G’raha and it’s going quite well, but feel free to write down your comp if you think it is more efficient.

I generally think that it’s the most efficient to do the dungeon as a dps job, since it puts out the most damage, speeding up the dungeon. A tank could make it go faster as well, if Miqo does big pulls, but I haven’t tried that out yet and idk if Miqo does that.
Also, I think the fastest dps to run yourself would be dancer and close partition G’raha, as his damage is outstanding, especially against trash packs.
Since I do not have Dancer geared well, I can only talk about DRG though. So far I have cleared Heroes’ Gauntlet in an average of 28 minutes.

    What are your thoughts?

Trusts will always average around 25-28 minutes, even if you were to do a ridiculous amount of damage they will reduce the damage they deal in order to push it as close as they can to the 30 minute mark. In some cases it can go even slower, Miqo pulls in small set groups even as a tank. I’m assuming it does this to give the bots time to do their work without risking overwhelming them. That being said I still believe the optimal party really depends on your class. Since Miqo will not use Limit Break (in my experience at least) I like to have Alisaie as one of my damage dealers. Y’shtola is also great because a few of her spells have aoe damage (even if it is minor) but it doesn’t make much of a difference between the two. Alisaie will sometime heal with Vercure as well and she will raise NPCs in the event that they die. Just like Red Mage, she plays a very versatile role. G’raha on the other hand is odd, as a DPS he plays a black mage that sometimes casts blizzard or fire and deals just as much damage as Y’shtola’s Xenoglossy with each. Yet even so his damage does not ever shorten the time limit, he really is just an All Rounder. You can put him anywhere, but I believe he plays best in the tank role. As a Paladin he has Clemency and as an NPC he has unlimited mana, I think you can do the math here. Thancred is nice because he will use Aurora on you, but you kind of have to weigh that against Clemency, ah and Super vs Hallowed Ground. I’ve seen Thancred use super as soon as his HP hit 50%, not all the time but it does happen.

Alphinaud is hands down the best healer, potent shields and a habit of spamming Succor means you have less damage to worry about, especially if you like to keep close to the enemies. Urianger is better for ranged simply because you don’t have to worry about getting hit but, personally the cards do not make up for the somewhat lackluster AI by comparison. I’ve never wiped in a trust, but Urianger has died far more often than Alphinaud…maybe he is too focused on the particle effect of Malefic.

In my opinion the best and most efficient setup is:

When playing as a Tank. Alphinaud, Alisaie, Y’shtola.
When playing as a Healer. G’raha, Y’shtola, Alisaie.
When playing as Melee DPS. G’raha, Alphinaud, Alisaie.
When playing ranged physical DPS. G’raha, Urianger, Ryne
When playing Magic DPS. G’raha, Alphinaud, Any.

At the end of the day there isn’t any extreme differences, if you are a bit paranoid about bot survival then just use G’raha as a tank, Alisaie, and Alphinaud in their respective roles and play a DPS. With so many heals you are bound to survive even if you get tired of Miqo’s small pulls and decide to run ahead a little bit. Just remember, 25-28 minutes. Even if you somehow could survive aggroing the entire dungeon, it wouldn’t matter. So: Pick whatever you like.

Now take everything I’ve said with a grain of salt, I’ve only leveled 8 classes from 71 to 80 using exclusively Trust dungeons so. I don’t really have all the answers. Even with optimal in mind, I keep G’raha and Y’shtola on my team somewhere, Alphinaud too if I can. I just prefer them.

TL;DR G’raha tank, Alisaie, Alphinaud, and yourself for optimal survivability. Whomever you want, for optimal fun. There is no difference between the characters that change the pace of the dungeons dramatically. Dohn Mheg being the exception: Use Thancred, G’raha, and Alisaie so they actually make it across the light bridge on the final boss.

I feel that Graha WHM is vastly superior to all other forms of healers.

Almost shaves a full minute off the runs as a tank.
